The main weapon's range isn't as good as the Squiffer, another weapon with this playstyle, but its paint is is better, and I think it really benefited from the Splash Wall in the end. That's a successful concept.

Re: "the game is dead" ppl always say that about live service games after they stop releasing content. The peak player base is almost always at launch and relative to that the game IS dying population wise and in terms of viewership on Twitch. But that's hypebeast logic. It's like the content creators that figure out the algorithm loves negativity so they release nothing but videos about how the game is dying and they keep showing the same pics of Google trends and Steam charts and other irrelevant numbers

i was interested in reeflux before it got buffed, was dissapointed with the second kit but buffing the main weapon to being so damn mobile was a great decision i love it

Also would like to add I personally tapped out on Splatoon myself years ago but I still love watching the content. I don't think that just because I lost interest in playing that means the game is bad (it does mean that I think the weapon kits and maps in this game are dog shit but I digress) or the game is dead and aside from that parenthetical I never talk bad about it lol. DUDE, I have always appreciated the mature, levelheaded views you have on gaming and life. You're quite a few years younger than I so it's a wisdom that belies your years.

Learning reeflux has been so much fun. It’s my favourite weapon. It’s hard to learn but super satisfying getting one shots. Watching this makes me wanna try more jump shots and spend more time with the deco kit.

I played a lot of reef-lux deco the season it came out. it has such a weird kit but it's fun! and the kit actually kinda works better for it than I thought it would. also 2:37 I've actually done that before because we both had splash wall and I thought the enemy's splash wall was mine lmao. or maybe their wall was blocking mine

Splatoon 3? Dead? Absurd statement when I face plenty of players in matches and various posts in the hub Activity level varies, it's normal to have less players after regular updates are over, but I wouldn't call it "dead" until it's like Splatoon 2 - absolutely no one to play with, other than in turf war occasionally.

I should maybe try weapon again and should also play Squiffer. Since the end of Grand Fest (end of content support) I have to wait longer (2+ min.) for a Anarchy game to start, sometimes it got even cancelled. So the player base got a dip.
