I have tried something new this year - I've stopped automatically replacing items. Two small examples; I recently broke a batter bowl I used daily in the kitchen. Instead of jumping on Amazon or heading to Home Goods for a replacement, I just used another bowl. It's been a month now and I don't miss the batter bowl. Same with clothing. I've gotten rid of items over the course of this summer and I did not buy anything new. I just wore what else I have in the closet. I don't feel deprived at all.

small steps lead to big changes....Keep a list of the money savings, write it down that you cooked at home instead of eating out. What I would have spent was $30 on dining out, what I spent by cooking at home was $7.50, a savings of $22.50. If you work outside of your home, make enough dinner for lunch left overs the next day. Over one month it really adds up in a empowering way.

Our very favorite lunch is leftover dinner - it feels like a free meal. Plus it really does feel like the food I make us at home is much healthier than whatever we'd have dining out.

I have to figure out my grocery situation. I am single (no kids or mate) therefore i only have to cook for myself. Im not a eat full meal type gal which means i really dont cook. My taste buds are all over the place. Because its just me, i can get away with eating breakfast for dinner, a sandwich etc. And im ok with that. I consider myself a grazer. But by eating this way, my grocery bill can be high for a single person (i think) ex..ill spend $50 in groceries, but next week im looking for something to eat and have to go shopping again. I thought maybe instead of grocery shopping weekly, maybe just go to the store daily but who wants to do that. Any suggestions?

How about meal planning and prepping larger batches of versatile meals? This could reduce grocery trips and costs while providing easy-to-heat options for varied tastes.

If you’ve decided to be frugal, let’s face it. You are going to miss out. The reality is having a social life costs money and if you’re not spending, you will miss out. The sooner we understand what sacrifice means for a higher goal and come to terms that we are not going to get everything we want, the easier it is to prioritize spending less🌱.

I did. If we think we won’t be giving up anything, we’re kidding ourselves. The reality is frugality will cramp out style. That’s just the truth. We can reallocate, reassign and juggle all we want however, there WILL be less spent on pleasure in exchange for something else, no matter what we decide to call it. Spending less is the whole point of frugality, and the faster and more comfortably we focus in on that shift, the more successful we will be. 🌿

It’s like anything else.... just like being on a diet and saying we’re going to lose 100lbs but we’re not going to cramp our style or give up anything. We can shift calories and eat a little less cake in favor of vegetables but the reality is, if we want to lose all the weight, we *will be giving up on pleasures and the faster we set our mind to get that and change our eating patterns for the greater good, the faster we drop the weight. Saving money is like that and any other self-discipline. It’s a mind shift. We are not going to have it all. It’s up to us to decide what we do want and we then do that.🌿
