Remember when we thought the learning curve for Min MIn was going to be tough? I got pretty good with her in the first few days of her release. But Steve is going to be much harder. I've got some tips for what you can do when you die as Steve. Let's say you die and you have a diamond, I would highly recommend you craft a diamond tool as quickly as possible when you get back on stage so that you can do more damage. I would also suggest that if you don't have a diamond but you have gold, I would try to craft a gold tool as fast as possible so that you can mine materials faster. Another thing you can do is mine as many materials as possible when you get back to the ground if you don't have gold or diamonds. It's better to gather more materials over trying to chase the opponent. Only chase the opponent if you are good on materials, otherwise you should gather materials or craft a diamond/gold tool when you get back to the stage. If you are at a high percent, all your tools have broke, you have diamond/gold, and you are one stock above your opponent I would not craft until you are killed. Reason being is that if you are high percents, you will die very easily and it would be a waste of a diamond/gold if you immediately crafted one when you have no tools. Try to put on a little bit of damage on your opponent with your punches or punch the ground for extra materials before you die. Only craft materials at high percents if you are on your very last stock. One last tip is don't waste your time t-bagging, taunting, or building an L on the opponent when they die. Only do that if you are committed to trashing on people and/or you are good on materials. Instead if you are playing the character in a serious manner, use your time to mine materials or craft tools. This is especially useful if you get a star or screen KO. If you have a lot of materials already then feel free to trash on the opponent, otherwise if you aren't doing good on materials do not waste your time trashing on the opponent and instead use those precious seconds to gather materials and/or craft tools.

In my opinion, Steve is a multi-tier fighter. He's able to craft better weapons, some of his attacks don't work if you don't have much materials, and he can be played in many different play styles.

I feel like Steve is going to be mid tier since his moves are pretty predictable. But who knows? I don't think he's a broken character by any means but he's definitely does have a good combo game that's easy to execute. The blocks can get in the way but they're not unfair since they can be broken and they only stick around a short time.
