I love this interrogation! I mean, interview! I laughed a lot at the way Robert explained things, and seeing you hypnotized and following his words with hand movements while he was speaking was hilarious! 😁

It looked fake which is disappointing to see from a communication expert. She was trying to show her listening skills but did not come across as natural

Watching Roger Love is always valuable and highly interesting. His advice is invaluable, simple to understand and extremely beneficial to those who wish to learn and improve. Furthermore, Roger is a gift of a man and we hope to see more people of a similar calibre who continue to benefit human society despite the corruption and mess that faces our world. Some advice for Vanessa and the viewer: 1) Artificial and manufactured body language (physiology), doesn’t seem to work when listening to people and therein lies the distraction. 2) In England, Europe and other cultures, pointing at people is deemed rude and offensive, so pointing at the screen must be avoided if any of you wishes to do this kind of work in the future. 3) Try not to distract the viewer/listener by overemphasising your listening skills by your increased body language which will cause more analysis of how you are performing (artificial gesticulation) rather than increased listening ability which is the more important thing. 4) When giving advice to people in caption form, check that your spelling is correct and unfortunately, Vanessa made another blunder here. (If you find some of my spelling inaccurate, I'm using British English spelling. 5) At 26 minutes, Vanessa criticises people from blowing their vitally important first impression. If you listen carefully, she takes a breath at the wrong moment, thereby blowing apart her own advice. I hope the above advice is useful for those who embark on an exciting new journey using their own voice in a manner that leads to fulfilment on one’s own life and the greater benefit to others. Best wishes.

Amazing advice! However, it felt like that you think Venessa teaches artificial body language. She teaches "stage performance" rather than effective communication. Here I disagree. Venessa doesn't teach artificial body language gestures. Yes, at the beginning it feels artificial. Even the voice practice will seem artificial at first. Then, with practice it will become more natural. Roger is using body language too. He is not just using his voice. He is using hand gestures, facial expressions as well. Your all the points are amazing. I agree, It shouldn't look like you are trying too hard or trying to entertain rather than communicate, but reasonable body language helps us communicate better.

Hey Vanessa, huge fan and lover of Captivate: The Science of People! Just a suggestion for your podcast... when you speak to the audience and repeat back to them a certain point that the speaker just made and to focus on that, it feels a little condescending or like you feel we are unintelligent. I know that's not your intention, but it comes off a little weird! Just a tip!
I love it. It's so valuable. Anyone suggestions who to follow on KZbin to teach myself? I go up and down the stairs now and goog :)

The word "CELEBRITY" Almost Makes Me Throw Up 🤢 and I have been called that a few times, but It has So Many Negative connotations. Do You instantly recall Celebs that ruined the name? Of course You Must! Like "HOLLYWOOD,"
@garyculver78463 жыл бұрын
Oops 😬 wasn't ready to publish that, but I left off with "HOLLYWOOD," I have had so many offers, but I Refuse to work in HOLLYWOOD, because when an Actor says; "To Die For!" They actually mean it! Meaning that they would sell their Soul to Satan for a brief moment of Fame on Earth & All Entire Lifetime on Planet Earth 🌏 is brief by comparison to Eternal Life and I choose Eternal Life over Everything Here. I'm So Happy that Brad P. has denounced Atheism ⚛, because He wasn't an Atheist when He got there. Just Think It Over ❤
