I still haven't gotten through this solo. My longest run had me surviving 3 escatons, broke both horns and this thing just wouldn't die. I was watching another YT video yesterday and the guy was going through the same thing but eventually he killed it. I wasn't so lucky. But I'll keep plugging away at it until I beat it.

Keep at it hunter. You CAN do it. She must and WILL die by your hand. One piece of advice, you can go for hind legs for safety, but if you wanna deal as much damage as possible, go for front legs. And if she is not in dragon phase and you already broke one horn to prevent elemental switch and on the ground, go for the horn for even more damage, ignore the tail

I feel like there should be more importance on the usage of Astera Jerky here. Astera Jerky heals the entire red damage portion on your health bar instantly. You can carry 5 of those and won't need to use them for other situations in the fight, meaning that you can easily take 2 of those per escaton judgement and be back to full health immediately. Max Potion obviously also heal you to full, but the problem with those is that you're really gonna need them for the rest of the battle.

That is indeed correct. Astera jerky is a better option for Escaton judgment, i believe it is also slightly quicker to eat than max potion. The reason I preferred max potion more is because I dont have any space left in my inventory for astery jerky. I brought crafting mats for dust of life, for max potion, mega potion, potion, and the damage and defense boost items too

​@@ValdorcaVoidlurkerDrop the potions and mats for megapots. 10 megapots and 7 maxpots/11 ancient pots will be enough, you can restock on each cart. If you have to use all those heals and the hunt still isn't done you have other problems to worry about

So which weapon's a good option for when she starts Ice Active? Besides Kulve and Safi'jiva I can only see the Silver Rath weapon being the next best alternative even if it's definitely not the greatest. Any other ideas or is that all we get for a fire weapon?

Silver Rath weapon is indeed a good choice. But you must be careful with the poison since if you deplete her hp faster than the elemental dps check, you most likely will die to Escaton Judgment. The best weapon imo if you wanted to avoid that while also doesnt have Safi or Kulve wps would be glavenus, good sharpness, not negative affinity and good fire damage

@@ValdorcaVoidlurker I think you're confusing Gold Rathian with Silver Rathalos. Silver Rathalos doesn't have Poison element, only fire. And I could be wrong in it having the highest Fire Element stat outside of Kulve and Safi weapons (after you upgrade them respectively).

@@netherremains I assume you are talking about DB? because if it is DB then one hand is silver rathalos blade, the other is rathian, that’s why it has both fire and poison. Also, to get silver rathalos wp, you would need MR 70 while Alatreon quest is 24 only. So for new hunters, I think they will hunt Alatreon before silver rath

@@ValdorcaVoidlurker True. And I actually didn't know that about Dual Blades could have two elements. I've never ran with Dual Blades so I just assumed they worked like other weapons where only one element is involved. But they can have TWO Elemental types makes sense and is pretty crazy! And yeah, gating Silverlos and Goldian behind MR70 and Alatreon MR24 is still wild. You really don't have a lot of good options to fight him until 70+. I thankfully did him post MR100 so I could get better at the game and prepare. Longsword (for the most part) player here haha.

random question: what r we suppose to do when enraged Alatreon is flying? do smokebomb works like how it does with Fatalis?

Good question: to my knowledge, smoke bomb does not work that often or at all for Alatreon. So that leaves us with only 2 options, both options lead to the same landing animation, both sucks but better than her flying in the air for the entire duration of raging. First, I would stay under her and hit the legs to trigger the fire/ice ground breathing landing, worked for me about 40% of the time. Second, if she still refuses to touch ground, I would clutch claw on to her for the attack landing to trigger ( very risky because she fly and shrug you down). At the end, those are all make shift solutions, you will need to compensate for the down time when she is on the ground to win.
