How to Beat Count Geonor - Act 1 Boss in Path of Exile 2

As a warrior this fight feels impossible at the last 25%, because I find myself in the smaller arena, surrounded by mobs, having to dodge the wolf charges, AND with blood magic raining from above. I can't move anywhere, cannot damage the wolf, and the blood magic can one-shot you very easily... This fight feels quite unfair. Eventually it's a dps race, you need to kill the wolf before reaching that last point. I found that adding a couple of totems to your skills can help.

I’m also a warrior and I can’t even get past the very first mini boss when you first start the game. Previous Diablo player and it’s ridiculous.

@allcore5172 yes, I had problems with that one too, the trick is to use a crossbow as your secondary weapon and hit it from a distance, possibly with a poison support gem.

Thank you soo much! My build is similar to yours went back through the manor a couple of times, equipped all cold resistance, found a grand health flask and counted 2 seconds after dialog before the werewolf attacked. Slayed him easy. Lvl 18

The two legged one explode after a delay when you kill them. If you run in big circles, they will never thit you with the exlosion.

About that cleave at 4:44 He only uses it if you stand behind him. Its basicly his turn animation, into an attack. He will NEVER uses it, if you NEVER stand behind him. Just stay in a 180 degree cone infront of him, whenever you can, and he will never cleave you. Its humanly impossible to react to it, becasue he does not tellegraph or signal it comming, but you can make him just never use it. Also its blockable. If you have to get behind him, just raise shield, until he turns normaly, or with the cleave. Also, its a 180 degree cleave, not a 360 degree. About the hunt at 6:30 Get a shield, atleast on weapon swap. His charge attacks are blockable. Just raise shield between every line of his tale, and thank me later. For directional advice: He always charges out of the general direction he charged to. Visualy realy hard to see: the two legged wolfs freeze on death, than explode after a delay, watch out for them, they are the real danger of this phase. So you wanna run in big cricles, kill as many wolves you can for flask charges, and block his charge attacks with raise shield.

I almost killed him on my second try on my Ranger, he was down to like 15% health I didn't think I would do that good and started choking, my hands started shaking so bad and I couldn't even think straight anymore and of course lost lol

I am a very similar build as you and he is proving difficult. I had him down to a sliver but those ice blood pillars caught me. I might go back and get some gear and level up. As you said, this build is a bit squishy! Thanks!

Just did my very first blind charge into his room... resulted in total failure lol. This boss somehow reminded me of the Dark Souls 3 first dog boss (with a bit of DS1 Sif blend in).

Warrior here. I got 36% ice dmg resist and a weapon doing 17-22dmg plus some added physical and elemental dmg. There is were i was able to beat him. Got a lot of armour too (was able to survive his jump on the red indicator ring.

Not a fan of this boss experience it feels cheap to me and I’m not invested enough at this point to be really upset putting the game down. It’s just not fun in my opinion. The last phase feels cheap to me.

Just level up in the Manor before the boss. If you have any gear that improves your chance to find loot, use that. I was getting demolished. I leveled up twice and found some decent gear there. A level 5 skill gem, a ring that prevent freeze and bought a yellow weapon. I killed him so quickly, I skipped the phase with the fog

I’m running monk too and struggling to finish him off, always due to the pillars at the end I can erase the 1st phase in 20 secs, this is my first Poe game and I’ve only played a few hours in d4 Run falling thunder, tempest bell and tempest fury I think it is, get lots of cold resist and life leech/regen, there’s more damage that way

@@SubiKinubi i beat him early this morning after multiple tries... then went to the desert, found a new staff and some armor, hit lvl 20 and upgraded tempest fury and ice strike to lvl 5 and gave it a bunch of new support gems then decided to fight him again. i kicked his ass in 1 attempt... LMAO

bell skill to level to 5. I crushed him so badly solo that I missed the whole fog phase. Pushed right past it. It took all of 3 min total. Monk is OP.

Easy to avoid them: Do NOT dodgeroll them. When he does his beams, just walk, and dont try to do damage. When you atack him you slow down and will get hit, but whenyou just keep moving with basic movement speed, they cant hit you, unless they do a realy bad pattern. But than you can still dodgeroll them, if you realy have to. Just be aware, if you dodgeroill one set of beams, the next one WILL hit you.

This is an awful fight, being restricted to a shrinking area and overrun with enemies is not a good fight. Notice that this is minion build early on and minions are missing for most of the fight when things get tough because the minion survivability is trash. This is my experience as well with minions. Diablo 4 has a better minion experience than poe 1.5 so far.

As a lvl 16 witch this is really hard. He just keeps charging towards me, ignoring/pushing all my minions. The minions do no damage or even hinder him, and I have to dodgeroll him a lot so I cannot apply my damage skills. The only time I can light him up is when he hits with his huge frost sword or shapeshifts. In the hunting cloud its awfully crowded and I can do even less dmg. I still heve to beat him but cant get any further than the second cloud phase.

Bone cage and Unearth should be decent in the circle, especially the cage. Also, you could dip into some of the elemental skills and use Frost bomb, orb of storms, flame wall, and/or spark, since they can cover an area and you can just set and forget. Plus, with the flame wall, anything you shoot through it will add additional fire damage. You don't really need to do a lot of damage in the cloud phases. Just enough to keep the wolves off you. The phase is on a timer, so it's just about living through it. I just did it with a sorc. It took me about 10, or so, attempts, but I finally managed it. That two second tip he mentioned really helped.

I am new to this game, and I just can't bring myself to want to even waste more time trying to kill him on my 18 monk. This is unacceptable as an entry level boss that gates you from the rest of the campaign.

@@derekmorris89 What are you talking about? It's the final boss of Act 1, so it's not an entry-level boss at all. He has a similar difficulty to Godrick the Grafted from Elden Ring, so not that hard. Just learn to dodge his attacks and you should be able to defeat him, even with your underlevelled lvl 18 character.

the hunt sucks cause the damned roll doesn't work right. I roll, get stuck on a mob. then you get pushed into the fog. its also a dps check, cause if you can't kill the mobs fast enough then you just get overwhelmed. It is the only thing that keeps killing me. straight bullshit ability

I am able to pass the dps check my problem is the last 15% of his health where if hehits you you get the physical dmg increase to you debuff then its like cool my sorc dies in 2 hits no matter what now.

Get a shield (atleast on weapon swap). Raise shield to block his charges. The two legged wolves explode on death with a delay, avoid them. Dont be afraid of the fog, its harmless.

As a general rule in PoE 1 and PoE 2: To maximise your odds of succes, be atleast 3 level above zone level. There is a hidden modifier that lowers your damage, and increases the damage you take based on the monster level. You whant to atleast match monster level, or be above, never below. Monster level: White=zone level Blue=zone level +1 Yellow/golden: Zone level +2
