I'm sure they have victims that did all of the above and still got captured, but it would reduce the risk of being targeted. @chrisrudolf98393 жыл бұрын
Problem is that it makes the main character highly unlikeable. Taking revenge on the psycho who payed to torture him is one thing (still a capital crime, but one that most viewers would deem understandable and maybe even justified based on what the main character went through and what the victim did to "deserve" being killed), but using his innocent daughter to exact his revenge makes him almost as much of a despicable crimminal than the guy himself. Instead of escaping the monsters, he has become the monster. Granted going through intense trauma like that can make people snap, but it certainly would be a tragic ending.

@@abitparky8404 By "taking revenge" I didn't mean to do something even worse to the killer, I meant any form of vigilante justice that goes beyond legal self defense. You don't have to be a particularly cruel person to murder someone who tried to murder you before and most people would not consider a character being a bad person for doing that, especially if he has no realistic means to get his enemy convicted for his crimes by the authorities. But going for his innocent daughter instead just to torment her father makes him almost as bad as the villains, which IMHO is a disappointing ending and makes me retroactively feel bad to have routed for this piece of sh*t to survive.
@dustingaethje13322 жыл бұрын
@@chrisrudolf9839 I don't understand your line of thinking. This makes him far more complex and interesting than a generic, bland af revenge where he just kills the guy. @@lemon-parker That is the true ending, since in the sequel this man gets tracked down and gets killed in the first minutes. Robbing the child seems better, but it is very hazardous, and 100% will bring the police to him...or he kills the girl which makes him also a monster. This ending sucks. I prefer the killing the man then leaving and living another weeks/months/years before they find the man again in the sequel...

If he kidnaps the girl, what he will do to her? Raise her? Nope. Kill her. Maybe, but then he is worst then the father, becoming a child killer. Keeping the girl actively gets him hunted by every police force, and he will get captured again, and the rich people will find him in prison, and Game Over. Kidnapping the daughter is an alternate ending...and also a stupid move, with many risks and ending in failure. This isn't revenge, just a stupid move...
@LinguiniSoup3 жыл бұрын
@@killereye In reality, yes, this is a very stupid move to make because he could've just left without anymore incidents, but honestly, he's probably doing this off of emotional impulse from the trauma that he's experienced. Is it smart? no. Is it sadistically satisfying though? Hell yeah. I just feel like the payback was well deserved regardless lmaooo

Actually This wasn't the ending I saw when I watched it on tv. That ending was much more satisfying, which was he went into the bathroom after the man, who didn't meet with his daughter, and cut off two of his fingers from under the stall then went into the stall with him and started drowning him in the toilet, finally slitting his throat and leaving him in the stall. This ending is new to me, and I've watched Hostel 1 and 2 several times.

Honestly, a horror comedy with the premise of "the main hero has a narrator telling him what to do" would be kinda funny.
