Yeah! Everyone talks big game, and it's really hard to keep a level head. When I get in a dangerous situation, the only thing that allows me to keep a "level head" is shock (as in the emotion) or the will to keep others safe. In a storm, the best thing to do is try to make sure no one panics- crack jokes, tell good stories, but also sprinkle in good info so they remember it and can fend for themselves in the unfortunate situation where you die or get separated. But, storms are not assault or murder situations, and I can say that your brain absolutely shuts down in an assault situation.

They made a mistake by infiltrating the hideout ill prepared. None of them appear to be wearing body armor, which is the first thing I would bring to such a mission. Furthermore, I also would prioritize the thief's life much more, since he has could have critical information to share. He should travel in the center of the group. Also they didn't appear to perform any initial survey on the outside of the building, which could have yielded potential clues on its layout.
