How to Beat Noble Armies - Battle Brothers Fight Guide

In this episode of the Battle Brothers Fight Guide, I explain the best way to defeat groups of nobles. Focus everybody but the footmen and you'll find it's much easier. Trying to kill footmen will mean you'll eventually run out of stam/hp/armor and die.

I think I build my bros wrong. Can’t seem to beat noble of 20+ with 12 bros, most at lvl 11.

@CarveaHole I don't got tanks nor do I have hybrids. Also no legendary gear of any kind either. All my front liners got weapon and shield. Three archer bros in the back and two pole arm bros next to them. One of the polearm bro I turned him into a flag bearer sargeant. My bros got defeated by the noble group with two z's with double handed swords, 5-6 polearms, a sergeant, a hedge knight, around 3-4 arbalesters, and some footmen.

@@KrypptikkSoulslayer Aight so not having hybrids is okay, but you need tanks with taunt. Having frontliners with 2h weapons is also going to dramatically help you. Think of how nobles win their fights: the footmen do nothing besides shieldwall while the billmen, zweihandlers, and sergeants kill your bros. You said your lineup consists of frontliners with 1h weapons and shields - they're footmen. You're then trying to win with your 2 polearm bros and archers. You need your 2h bros (zweihandlers), polearms (billmen), duelists (sergeants) and whatever else to win the match. You won't win with your army of footmen. Especially not when you're outnumbered. It's not necessarily a gear check, but it's how you use your bros. 2h weapons wreck billmen and do great damage to footmen unlike how a 1h/shield bro could ever dream. Your frontline will get hit more, but then you use tanks with taunt to deflect incoming blows.

@CarveaHole I’m working on the tank bro but he is not at the level where I can win a noble fight like that. Know of any good two handed morning stars, if there is any??? I made the mistake of having two bros specializing in morning stars. Also is it better to have bros with a two handed axe or a two handed sword???

@@KrypptikkSoulslayer Two handed maces are very strong, as are two handed axes. Those are likely the strongest for killing/disabling single targets. 2h swords and bardiches can use the line attack to hit a billman behind a footman, which is great but not always possible. Between regular 2h weapons, I prefer axes > maces > hammers > swords. Low Matk bros can benefit from the +acc on swords though. Side note, 1h mace bros can work as stunners. Run fast adaptation + backstabber + mace spec and they can work very well to prevent shieldwall and big damage from sergeants/zweihandlers.

For these video u should use a day 70-80 army and not endgame superfamed geared team cause with endgame team everything is easy.

The gear is worse but the tactics don't change, but yes it is rather easy at end game

@@CarveaHole still watching someone with good game knowledge and appropriate gear can help us understand the losses and damage we can expect from taking the fight early. I agree with celio, watching people with the best gear win fights is disappointing because with that gear you should be winning ANY fight anyway. Still a good video but would LOVE to see it in a campain at the time of the first crisis or even earlier if you're ballsy.

Just drag some other enemies into the fight if you can, I had 4 lindwurms as support in one of the noble fights, it was quite the sight to behold. There were only 8 people left after they were done with the big lizards.

Just want to say that footman with military pick are quite scary and usually can score lucky kills because killing footman take times

How to beat nobles: farm legendary equipment and kill billmen in 2 shots from a distance. Lol. If this happens day 80, it would not be nearly this simple. You'd be losing bros for sure.

Yeah it's a flaw of this video. You can find other noble fights with a more realistic team in my let's plays. The tactics are still legit. I hope you still found some value from the video :)

No one's probably going to read this but different houses prefer different helmet shapes. So it's better in the early game (if noble war is your first crisis) to fight against houses that prefer to wear kettle or flat top helms as they offer better protection.

@@CarveaHole I'm only 90% sure. It's strange no one else found out about this I googled it but it seems like nobody has noticed it. But to prove my theory start a game with a noble house with the orange banner and green dragon. They always sport round nasal helms. And the house with white grapes and green banner, they seem to wear square flat top helments. We might be the first to notice this (maybe hidden) feature.

Hi, new to the game, playing Legends mod, but I think mechanics are pretty much the same. How are archers built? Do you have any basic build? My bros are currently in the level 8 range, but my archers suck so much evevn with 80% hit rate, can't do damage for shit, and I am confused on how you're hitting backline so much even though they're behind cover. That's my main issue with archer bros: I can't hit the backline because they keep getting "blocked" by either my guys or their guys. Also, how are your archers attacking so much? I am using bows, and I can only attack once with aimed shot, because if I do quickshot, the damage sucks so much.

All of what you said is why I don't use archers anymore. Throwers are best and crossbows are fine too.

@@yvannenikolainethercott5709 I have a video on why I don't use archers if you wanna hear me explain it more, but you don't have to. For crossbows, I'd only use them in my polearm+crossbow hybrids (which have their own video but use nimble over BF). For throwers, I don't have an official guide but late episodes of Special Snowflakes and my new RPG series have good thrower usage.

This is very late game. Not really the average threat level or average efficiency for players. The easy way to cheese noble war engagements is buy allot of nets and flash grenades. Have several stun skill users. You can by far cheese it even more by contracting a horde of cheap recruits, equip them with 3 nets (keep they out of firing lines) and have one or two mercenaries with Quick Hands using flash grenades. If you have one with Bags and Belts, thats extra cheesy. Flash grenades arent cheap, but its more than worth the investment. I literally cheese the noble fighters by netting them and stun locking. Same goes for exposed groups of enemies or pesky blitzers.

Your bros just completely outclass the enemy. And I feel like your tactics sort of rely on that a good bit. Of course the fight is easy when you’re able to one shot everyone and the enemy are rolling on 20s. Hell even your tanks all having their perks (indom, recover, taunt, etc) is a massive advantage. I’d really like to see this fight when they actually have the capacity to beat you. Day 100~ when you still don’t have a perfect lineup.
