Continuing the dark souls 3 guide series, I'm going to explain step by step how to beat soul of cinder and approach each of his moves, different combinations and the timing on when to attack. Soul of cinder can be overwhelming but that also makes him best end boss encounter in my opinion, a solid good boss to test everything you have learned leading up to him, that said doing very well requires good enough experience and so to cut all that hassle I made this tutorial video on how to beat soul of cinder. Hope you learn a lot from it. Honestly I wanted to thank you for this tutorial. I'm a vet and normally don't feel the need to look up how to beat bosses in these games, but I was doing a low level PvP build that required Sunlight Spear and using moderately upgraded weapons, so doing this fight the intended way was way harder than usual. I was stuck using only Lighting Stake because it was my highest damaging move. Your tutorial helped me learn the best directions to roll and how to bait his attacks better, so thank you for that.

you make the best dark souls boss videos by a long shot. like most videos are a summary of the fight a summary of a a language would give you a good idea on how that language goes. but you my dude are like making flashcards and each attack is covered and like a language, there is a number of individual things that need to be realized independently and sometimes jointly to understand it. this is how boss videos should be done from now on.

excellent tutorial. the first time i played DS3, cinder made me so frustrated that i gave up and summoned a phantom for help, but this time i was really able to better understand, and consequently enjoy the fight. knowing how to fight cinder made the process of improving at the fight a fun learning experience instead of a frustrating 2 hour session of banging my head into a wall, and honestly i think cinder is my new favorite boss because of it. thanks so much!

I dont know why im having so much trouble with this boss... this might be the hardest boss in this game for me. Maybe it's just because of his diverse moveset and that he's great at punishing the gready. That's something I severely struggle with... Your guide has given me a lot of wisdom towards this fight. @@BR1GHTMARES Nice, the only thing i would say is to not adopt the triple roll strat, I found out that is not safe because Cinder mixes the timing of the 3rd hit so there's a chance you can get hit on that, team hitless has a better approach for that 3 hit that ends in a thrust and the sword phase in general, recommend you check with them

for anyone who will see this in the future and new in ds3. Stay close when he use his sword, staff and lance. And stay away when he use his curved sword. And in second phase, only punish him when he use his jump attack toward you, and be aware of the possibility of second attack after he jumped to you.

The getting out of range strategy (from right-sided attacks) took some practice to get used to, but it's exactly the kind of safe approach that is necessary Also lancer mode sucks

Reinforced Club will stagger and bleed boss constantly and will interrupt any his move including healing process. Constant stagger + knowledge from video will make this fight a lot easier.

During his second phase is you're up close and he lights his sword up overhead. Get outta dodge. You can't roll it, it's multi hit grab

great tutorial although there is one miniscular problem: your music can be as loud as your voice at some points and it makes it kinda blend into the music and its a bit hard to hear. i'd recommend turning it down /juuuust/ a little bit and then its good. other than that, great tutorial! im doing an sl1 run right now on him actually

Dude dont tell people to double roll, then triple roll if he does the poke follow up, this is very unsafe, its much easier to roll back from the right handed slash then hold back and u will outspace whatever he does next, including the quick slash afterwards, then if he does the poke u can just easily roll it

While I can’t guarantee that the double/triple roll is completely safe I will disagree on your statement about being “very unsafe” . This tutorial video is a complete flowchart of how I achieved consistency on this boss for my no hit runs after having problems beating Cinder consistently for a couple of months. After 60+ hours solely dedicated on getting better on cinder I have yet to get hit by his poke doing the triple role, this is not to say that It won’t happen but saying that is very unsafe is an overstatement although I do agree that it looks very risky and unsafe and I was concerned at first but it ended up working in the end. I’ll do some testing on your approach, rolling once and back peddling for sure is a simpler answer so I want to see for myself if it beats both options coming from Cinder’s combos on his right, to my understanding the delayed attack on the combo should connect with the character but I guess I was wrong.

@@heyblasty8614 well after 300+ hours in this fight, doing the fight SL1 fists only, SL1 NG+7 +0 wepaons no rings/buffs and SL1 NG+7 no roll/rings/buffs, i can say this strat to dodge it is unsafe, i have used this strat before and it has hit me many times before i figured out the strat that i use now, and using my strats i have never lost a run to cinder

I believe he is the most complex boss in any fromsoft game. He has 4 fighting styles, soulmass persist even after changing styles plus an entire new move set on second phase

I'm on him at soul level 1 and it's a hell of a lot harder than when you're leveled. I basically have to no-hit him. This sucks😒

Yeah, daggers are great. Hitless runners use sellsword twinblades for their amazing damage out put but daggers are a close second because of their dps

Sw3aty RL yes, I would recommend doing it this way until you start to understand the fight a little bit more, tho if you have a good amount of estus you can afford to be more aggressive and trade hits to finish the fight sooner
