@@derekbrown1850I’m sorry because I don’t want to be that person, but if you’re talking about them running out of air in tanks, then they probably will last longer (maybe 30minutes) depending on: what’s in the tank (which noble gas is in there), how deep they are diving, and how disciplined their breathing is; I will say that it was missed in the video, but both divers practiced mindful breathing exercises to help them hold their breath longer; this guarantees that their tank should last way longer than 15 minutes. Sorry not trying to be rude, just pointing out a few things

@@C4TC4T As a divemaster I took all that into account. They are 100ft down, I've logged 20+ dives at that depth and they are running out of air and quickly. Whether they are running standard o2 or nitrox they at that depth the mix in the tank is compressed even more when at 100ft down vs 0ft. They are essentially inhaling more with each breathe and depleting their tanks at a faster rate. All the swimming, and getting scared raises their heart rate, increases breathing and depletes the tanks quicker. It literally has nothing to do with controlling their breathing and everything to do with them being at that depth for an extended amount of time. Now if they had rebreathers (which they don't) that would have recycled their exhaled o2 back into they co2 filter allowing them more downtime. Point is their dead in 15 mins.

@@derekbrown1850 man 🤣 I am a fellow cave diving enthusiast, it isnt unrealistic cuz every 12 ltrs of oxygen they carry its 8 minutes of time at their depth which I assume is 100 ft.. they had like 30 ltrs at least, besides I don't think they spend that much time in there uk... like consider it was canonically shorter but the movie made it seem longer by adding pov and shit... Also ppl mostly do this shit in grps like ppl leaving tanks at check points and leaving marker and guide lines and stuff, which didn't happen ofc, on technical side its kind of bs but for a movie its good.

Someone who likes cave diving but appreciates it from outside the cave :) 30L of O2 divided by your 12L number; gives the dive team 2.5 Eight min cycles at that depth. Based off the numbers you gave, the dive team is only able to have max 20 min bottom time. And that will consume 100% of the tank air, which you should know as a diving "enthusiast" that you never deplete your tank 100%. LOL point still is that they would die in 15 to 20 mins. I can’t even begin to start listing all their wreck diving mistakes. Their incorrect and missing gear, their lack of certification and training, their lack of planning, their lack of any kind of line/cookies, the insane dangers of wreck diving in general (cave diving is a good comparison but wreck diving has unique risks), the lack of staging tanks and concern for the rule of thirds or decompression, seemingly using using only one kind of gas instead of changing to suit their depth and so much more… even without the ghosts they were dead.
