Are there other settings you can work in as a Neuro Sonographer. How physically demanding is it being a Neuro Sonographer. How tough is on the body? Are there any specialties for Neuro Sonographers?

The most popular setting to be a neurosonographer is in children's hospitals and hospitals with neuro floors. You can maybe find a vascular lab that does them. It can be tough on the body because of the way you have to position your arm and the machine, We do our best that we can to work ergonomically.

For some reason, the graduation rate for ACC is 11% and for CHCP it is 80%. CHCP is significantly more expensive, but for some reason it appears to be easier for classes such as math. Which school is better? I would appreciate a recommendation

Hi there! I can't recommend specifically on which school to go to however I'd say list your pros and cons for each and which fits you better. Think about the cost, the classes, and if they are accredited vs non accredited, what they offer, and their credibility.

So happy i came across your channel. Your amazing been following you now for a few weeks. How can i get into breast Sonographer and would this be least physically demanding and what setting can a breast Sonographer work in? Can you only specialize as a breast Sonographer if you want to?

hey jasmine thank you so much for the support! you will have to go to a general program, learn everything, but take the breast board exam and then you would "specialize" in breast.. however most outpatient places that have breast also do other exams unless you only work at a breast center.

yes you can! just because you go for one thing doesn't mean you can't go for others... just talk to an advisor or counselor at your school of choice -- use CAAHEP.org to find an accredited program!

Do male ultrasound techs get a lot of discrimination? and is this a good career for males?

This is a great question. There are a lot of male sonographers, and I know a whole bunch of them. I even went to ultrasound conferences and even though our field is thought of to be mainly women there are a lot of men too! It is a good career for males. I work with 4 males in my department. Males also like doing neurosonography as well as cardiovascular sonographer. Henry is a HUGE sonographer star in our community! Check out his page! Sonographic Tendencies.

as long as you go to a general sonography school and get practice scanning pediatrics -- you will have to have someone sign your clinical verification for to sit for pediatrics.
