Very good points made by Alva all around. BUT! I would like to throw in a couple extra points for anyone wanting to get into modeling from the perspective of having worked in the fashion industry as both a photographer and a creative director. 1. Looks and height are not everything in this industry. 2. Checking your ego at the door, not taking things personally and being able to follow the creative directions from the people behind the camera i.e., photographers, videographers, creative directors, stylists, etc., WILL SET YOU APART 99% of the time. I can't stress enough how valuable it is for the creative team to collaborate with models who know how to follow directions to the T and not question the decisions made by said creative team. Which is why you CANNOT take things personally. You are there to work, give your best with the instructions given, collect your paycheck and move on to the next project. The easier you make their job, the more likely YOU WILL get called back for another project. 3. Yes confidence is key, but a down to earth personality in my opinion, will go much further and will get you noticed.
