One of my favorite things about notes is scanning and editing PDFs. i.e. my wife had a doctor appointment recently. We got copies of the paperwork to be filled out ahead of time. Rather than writing everything by hand (usually hard to read because the lines for everything are so small) I scanned them with my iPhone into notes, edited them so I could type everything neatly, inserted her signature and initials where appropriate, and, finally, printed out the completed forms. The receptionist was amazed how easy it was to read compared to those she usually had to transcribe into the chart.

Man, you saved my life
@JRPittman3 жыл бұрын
@@Hage8025 here’s another thing I use. In my area any time a new water well is drilled or the property changes owners the well water must be tested for bacteria. That’s one of the jobs I do. 4 ounce sample in a special bottle goes to the lab with a “request form” listing the current owner, address, Environmental Services Department permit number (if it’s a new well), time and date the sample is taken, and the person taking the sample. And signatures of the sampler in a couple of places. You know what government required forms are like. Instead of getting a form for each sample I had the lab email a PDF of the form and saved it to a new note with one line of text that shows as the title. I.e. “Request Form Templet” I edited the PDF to include all the base information. Each new sample I edit the name, address, time & date, and ESC # if there is one and print out a nice neat copy for the lab. I used to insert my signature (that’s in the edit function and once you sign the first time it stays saved) and initials, but I let it slip to the tech and they demanded that I have to manually sign it even though they never could tell the difference before I told them 😂. Back when I manually filled it out they sometimes read my writing wrong and we had to go through the trouble of correcting the information on the result certificate. Now it’s printed neatly and legible

The scanning feature has been a gamechanger for me. Whenever I had papers by my desk, I previously had to walk to my printer/scanner, do that whole thing, etc, open the scanning app on my PC, scan, get the pds, load up email client and send. Now, I just do that all without moving and its already on my phone to email. Love it!

If you have a macbook. You can use your phone as a scanner too. Believe both phone and laptop have to be on same wifi. On the macbook, right click anywhere on the home screen. Your iPhone or iPad will pop up to take photo or use as scanner. When you click on what you want example-scanner your phone will automatically open up to scan your first document. It will drop what you save on the desk to as a pdf or image. Need to try the notes scanner.
