How to bind A SLT Transmitter to your LOSI Mini LMT

Can I bind the mini LMT to DX6 transmitter?

I tried this procedure and this did not work, the Losi manual says disconnect steering servo and plug bind plug into the steering pigtail. I was able to then Bind it to an SLT transmitter and a SLT3. I've tried this Bind procedure on 4 of my other LMT and it does not work, you have use steering servo pigtail with the Bind plug.
