Yay top 356 and top 30 likes and comments. Love this content. Great work. Once your entire piece of block printed fabric or paper is printed, what do you do with it? Do you sell the printed papers or fabrics? What about the blocks themselves? Do you save them to reuse for another project? Can you apply block printing ink to a wall - will that work ? How big is the largest block you've ever used- do blocks come in more than one size? Can you use cardboard for block printing? Have you ever used a potato for block printing like Ms. Stacy in "AnnE with an 'E'"?

Hi! To answer some of your questions - you can make block prints in any size, and you can print on just about anything (though there are different inks for different materials - like fabric). I save the blocks in case I want to use them later, but you don't have to! And yes - I love potato prints - super fun way to make patterns! xo

Nicely done and those geometric shapes are excellent. Almost like emergent text. Oh, and can I have your phone number? I know, cheeky.

Hi Justine this video is two years old now but to me it's brand new it seems a little strange somehow to comment on something someone did two years ago but that's one of the great things about KZbin I guess,any way the project turned out pretty cool the geometric designs remind me of the vampire glyphs from the movie blade. In the movie the glyphs only showed up under uv light but they looked very similar sort have a tribal vibe going on which is cool.

Is this the same as Linocut?

Yes! Lino (linoleum) is the surface - I'm using that EZ pink carve (link in bio) , but it's pretty much the same idea :)

Can you use ink from an ink pad?
@JustineSilva2 жыл бұрын
I don't think a standard ink pad would be inky enough to make a solid shape, but it's always fun to experiment!

Love this. If I use this technique on clothes, how would you "seal" the paint so that it doesn't smear in the wash?
@viktoriarosa57613 жыл бұрын
Use a color that is washable, and after you have printed it, iron it (this Will seal it)

Use a color that is washable or for fabric
@JustineSilva3 жыл бұрын
You can! In the video I used water based which won't work. Speedball makes special fabric block printing ink that can be ironed to seal it!
