You and Josh are the #1 reason I switched to a stan resistance release. I'm 2 months into it exclusively and the benefits are tremendous. 25 years of target panic I can finally put my pin ON the spot I'm aiming at and execute NOT punch a shot. Thank you both!!! Keep the tremendous videos coming. Love the slow mo long range shots

I just got my resistance yesterday. I have to admit I’m pretty nervous. I’ve been punching my release like it’s owed me money for years. Any suggestions?

Great video. I’ve been shooting the same release for hunting the past couple years and you are spot on with your comments. Setting it a little heavier is the way to go fly sure

Awesome advice! I got through target panic the same way. Great video.

Thanks for re-visiting this topic! I watched a previous video of yours which convinced me to give a resistance release a try. You're right, it's a process, but after a year now, I couldn't be happier with the results. No more target panic! Appreciate your advice, it was spot on. With my Carter evolution 20 I've taken some nice animals and have never looked back on using a trigger release again. Keep up the good work!

Shooting with back tension is definitely a process. I thought I had it figured out(I didn’t) I would jerk the release to make it fire. It really clicked blank baling, up close, with my eyes closed and really thought about taking my time and really focusing on contracting that rhomboid. Shooting has become much more enjoyable.

I bought the Stan onnex resistance release in aluminum and heavy metal. I started bow hunting last yea two months before bow season last year. I have other peoples thumb buttons and honestly do not see how they can focus on the target when they are trying to squeeze the trigger. These things are severely underrated releases. Super pricy and the initial setup takes a min but they are the only way I will ever shoot.

Great video. I’ve been shooting a long time. I use to be a command shooter with the index wrist straps. The spot Hogg wiseguy is awesome. But I couldn’t stop snatching. So I went to the UV hinge. Great tool to beat TP. Now I shoot a thumb button UV and aim through no snatching. The hinge or back tension is the way you train your hands. For the left hand to not know what the right hand is doing. I’d like to learn more about your style release. Luke 9:62

I have the same release in all 3 configs but have never hunted with the resistance one but might try just for fun as I have not had issues with not hitting what I aim at or target panic thx for the info..

i had the stan perfex resistance release, i believe it got discontinued because it had problems with its set release strength changing, at least thats what happened with mine, in the middle of a tournament when all of a sudden the release wouldnt go off no matter how hard i pulled

Are you tightening your back to fire it or more of a push pull pulling the bow apart approach

I was getting some target panic using a thumb button. Went to a hinge. I shoot way better and it slowed my process down

I’ve been thinking of trying this style of release. $325 for a release is a lot

It definitely is, but you get what you pay for and the release can be one of the most important pieces of your equipment. Sometimes you can find them used for much cheaper.

I’ve been hunting with a hinge for a few years now and people have told me that I’ll never get a shot off in time but the way I see it is that if I don’t have the time to make a proper shot I shouldn’t have taken the shot anyway

@@BowOnlyOutdoors I appreciate the insight! Where I live there are practically no archery coaches, just bow hunters so it can be difficult to apply new techniques and actually learn proper form. Sometimes in person just teaches things that videos cannot
