A white guy asked me Are you Chinese? I said No, I'm Vietnamese. 5 seconds later he asked me What did you say you were again Chinese? It's funny because he never told me where he was from because this was the first time we met, but I asked him you're from Boston, right? And guess what I was right because he responded by saying How did you know I'm from Boston? I asked him if he really was from Boston and he confirmed that indeed he was from Boston. He said he was born and raised in Boston. Funny how during our whole conversation I showed him more respect than he had shown me about where we came from. In my opinion the guy wasn't very smart not just because he didn't seem to care about where I came from but because of his behaviors and he was old and working at a minimum wage restaurant. The thing is that I couldn't figure out if he asked me if I was Chinese because it was so natural in America to assume someone is Chinese because they look Asian or if it was because of his own stupidity.

A lot of Americans assume all Asians are Chinese. It's annoying. I'm not Asian, but my friend told me they call her that Asian girl. So rude...

Ginny is right about the 'Immoral' stereotype. My dad knew a lot of sailors back in to the day who married Asian women who just wanted to use them so they could bring their family to the US. My dad knew this one guy who married (I think) a Philippine woman and brought her entire family to the US and then she divorced him once everyone was here.

As an actual Chinese citizen, what's even more embarrassing is: when you know people ask you "Are you Chinese?" out of ignorance, stereotypical thoughts or racism, you have no cool answers to fight back with attitude (like at least asking "Why do you assume all Asians are Chinese") coz you ARE Chinese for real……That's hella annoying

Asian girls often prefer White boys over other races. In fact, interracial marriages between Asians and Whites consist of about 70% Asian women and about 30% White guys. So if you're an Asian guy, just look at this stat.
