Is there a reason why he doesn't brumate them? From everything I've read and heard during my research brumation not only helps with fertility but it increases their life expectancy. So I'm curious if Joe has found otherwise, or has some info he can give us on why it may not be a good idea to brumate? Thanks for the video, Dav! Love your wild herping stuff! XD

I bought a hogg and was told it was just an anaconda but when I took a good look it had this nice greeny yellow faint line on its dorsel so Im hoping I can find a female with a good dorsel like that and hope to get some real cool babies. My male is way too small for breeding yet though, he was a runt and is only 17/18g at 7 months but he was off food for about 3 months.

Hey dav my brother need to ask a ? Why isnt there any eastern hognose in the pet trade is it because no morphs or what because to me there awesome plus they are a bigger snake of course most eastern snakes tend to be bigger subspecies for whatever reason i dont know but thats it why dont u see the eastern hognose and only the western
@lisamo10135 жыл бұрын
I think the Eastern hognose is really difficult to switch over to mice (maybe check Snake Discovery, I'm pretty sure she has one and she explains it further).
@anissadelarosa24407 жыл бұрын
this might sound dumb but can a hognose be bread to stay tiny like baby size tiny?
@davkaufmansreptileadventures7 жыл бұрын
No, they can't. Males however do stay smaller than females.
@anyu6 жыл бұрын
No, but they stay pretty cute and small for quite a while so you get to enjoy the tiny adorableness. My baby was born in August 2017 and while he's grown he's nowhere near full size.

How much is a western hognose snake
@guardiansanimalrescuestate72894 жыл бұрын
I have always feared snakes and then about a year ago I started watching snake videos and doing research and I see how amazing that reptiles are and that they also each have their own personalities. I’m disabled so many tasks r difficult for me, but I’ve already bought a 20 gallon glass aquarium alone with hides and things I need. Except bedding as I know hognoses love to borough. I fell in love with the western hog nose snakes and I’m ready to get one. Being on disability, I don’t have a lot of money, but I wondered if u had one that was affordable. I’m all set up and just love love their look and how they act. I absolutely love PISSY the hog nose who thinks he is a “cobra” So he calls him pissy the “cobra” Anyhow, I don’t need a special morph. I think the orange ones r my favorite, but I’m not picky. I’m just excited to finally, after a year of research and studying, to finally get my first snake and I’m so in love with the western hog nose. U can email me at l.Bailey1478@gmail.com if u could work with me to get one. I wanted a male. Edit I also really love the last one that u showed with the conda morph. I hope we can figure something out so I can get one this week or two. I do need to know what kind of bedding for them. I was thinking aspen but not positive since they like to dig and borough.
