Awesome video as per usual owd lad! Clear instructions are what I’ve come to expect and wasn’t disappointed….I hope you decide to try the Wyeast1469 West Yorkshire ale yeast, I think this brew A would be an ideal one to try it in. I just checked and it is available over there for about $14.90..a bit expensive but it can be washed and reused from the trub…I am witness to that. Keep up the great work my friend.

Hey Neil, As usual, I appreciate your suggestion. P.S. I will be making Coopers English Bitter in the near future which I am grateful for the info. Keep up the great work. If you like I can mention your business and place a link for your statue website. We have a few USA viewer on our Channel. I just need your prefered details as I get closer to filming. 🍻

@@quantumhomeimprovements Hi Moussa. You’re going to love it! It’s a great Coopers beer and probably not as popular down under as it ought to be. On a hot day I throw in a few ice cubes too! A few teaspoons of cold water in a pint of beer ain’t gonna make that much difference to the taste or flavour. Thanks so much on the offer, very much appreciated indeed. I’ll be in touch. I’m looking forward to seeing the Bitter video mate. Keep up the great work my friend. 🤓👍🏻🍻but don’t forget to rest well too. To anyone who thinks or feels making beer is difficult..it really isn’t. Moussa’s videos prove it. I only started last May 2022 and I’ve learnt so much since then. It’s as easy as you want it to be and it is a thoroughly enjoyable hobby. If you’re hesitant..just give it a go, you’ll be surprised at its simplicity and very pleased with the results. A spray bottle with Star San or similar is a must!

@@neileyre6019 I love Coopers English Bitter, a great drop! I do find the darker beers, especially stouts, improve the longer you age them. I had a Mangrove Jack's Irish Stout that I aged for over 6 months and it tasted soooo good.

I agree 100% Noel! It's hard to put away batches to age because they taste really good. Here is the link to the Coopers English Bitter video if you haven't already watched it! Cheers 🍻 kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJObq2iLp6mmp8k

Just lately with the last few batches I’ve made, I’ve found that the peak is about a month and that seems to last for about a month. Stones Bitter clone bottling tomorrow.🍻I haven’t made any stouts or porters as I don’t care for them.

Good to see another brewing video Moussa, the first video I watched on your channel was a brewing video and now I am hooked. Super clear instructions as usual. I like your preferred sanitisation method. Can’t be to careful. Enjoy the fruits of your labour and thanks for the upload.

Good video. To make things even easier you can add Kweik yeast (usually Lutra or Voss) so as not to worry about temperature control.
@quantumhomeimprovements
@quantumhomeimprovements 2 жыл бұрын
Spot on Paul! I do change the yeast depending on temperature at the time of brewing. Kviek yeast is brilliant for the hotter period for sure which is generally good for Pale Ale. In fact I used it in the Coopers Pale Ale video which was my first time. I was very impressed 🍻

Hi im very new to home brewing im finding it very difficult to understand the reading of the gravity readings i have a new coopers kit not sure what to do
@quantumhomeimprovements
@quantumhomeimprovements Жыл бұрын
Hi Joe, You are in the same boat as most people. There are two hydrometer readings that are important, which are the first and last. The first one Coopers call the Original Gravity (OG), remember to record the figure after the hydrometer has settled. Then, just before you are about to bottle the beer which you do only after your next couple of hydrometer readings when the brew is supposed to be finished fermenting and the readings have stabilised. Then you calculate the Final Gravity (FG) which is known as (potential alcohol content %) reading, subtracting the (FG) reading from the (OG). That figure will be the current alcohol level, but remember that the brew will have a secondary fermentation in the bottle, which will increase the alcohol content another half percent. I really hope this helps and does not confuse you more.

do i have to do a full batch every time, can i use a quarter of the can and use a 5 litre brewer? would i be able to store the teast and the syru for later in a kilner jar>

In theory, yes, you can, but you really need to be careful of bacteria, which can easily be introduced once you open the tin! Personally, I like to make bigger batches to save time! Cheers, Merry Christmas

Hi mate, did you use boiling water at the beginning to mix in the malt? Cheers 🤙🍻
@quantumhomeimprovements
@quantumhomeimprovements Жыл бұрын
Hey Mark, Using an accurate thermometer, we got the water up to 72 degrees celsius, then we turned the cooktop off and placed all the grain in using a brewing bag. The temperature then dropped down to 65 degrees. Then we wrapped it in a blanket. Cheer 🍻 happy brewing

Oops, sorry, Mark, I was distracted! The water was boiled to 100 degrees when I placed the IPA syrup into the fermenter, and then I gave it a quick stir just before placing the malt in, which was only a couple of minutes after.

In this video I used Chlorinated Trisodium Phosphate as the Steriliser & Phosphoric acid as the Sanitiser but you don't need to use both. I just choose to be cautious. Stellarsan or Star san work okay is everything are fairly clean.

Don't U need a airlock tube
@quantumhomeimprovements
@quantumhomeimprovements Жыл бұрын
Coopers' old fermenter did use an airlock, but the newer 3 part system has been designed without needing one. However, I prefer the older system because I can see when the fermenting is slowing down. I attached a link to my first video I realised using it. However, I did use sodium metabisulphite as a Sterilizer. kzbin.info/www/bejne/goWpgKlsr7dosJI
