now if you actually want to go fast for cheap: Get yourself a new edge, a gen 3 5.3 with gen 4 rods n pistons, any cathedral port head, ls9 gaskets, arp bolts, 228/232 @ .050 range duration camshaft, less than .600 lift, heat range 7 NGK spark plugs, c16, e85 or meth, 80lb injectors, boost controller, s480, intercooler and rest of the turbo and fuel system shit a mild built th400 and 8.8 with about a 3.55 rear gear and a decent radial. and you’ve got yourself a solid 8-1000hp setup

Now that you have all the parts you need to get them installed. Just slapping those parts together expecting them to produce 1000hp is not going to happen. Even if you do all the mechanical work yourself you will still be spending thousands for tuning, dyno and track to perfect the build. Once you start driving it like a performance vehicle you will have related brake downs that could even make you start over from scratch. What should have been clearly stated in the video is that parts should be installed over time to a running vehicle. Perfect the v8 swap first with rings gapped in anticipation of the supercharger first. Then instal and perfect the supercharger. Brakes and fuel come next, then suspension. After ALL mechanical is done then worry about paint, wrap and rims.

A used 2014 Shelby goes for about $60k And you there not factoring in replacing the brakes, suspension, or engine/transmission mounting, or the limited slip rear end. Factor in a MINIMUM of $15k more. To build your own gt500, you’d have to spend about $80k….. or you can just buy a real one for cheaper.

Or you can buy a cheap C4 Corvette which will dominate the GT500 on the track, and has a 350 sbc already in it, and for 6k get a procharger kit and just slap it on. If you want to go crazier the 32psi procharger kit is available, BUT you can build the 350 into a 383 and get those extra cubes and go from a 2 bolt to a 4 bolt splayed use ARP everything and get 1000hp reliably and you don’t even have to modify the hood. Or just buy a 5.3 LS, twin turbo it and shove it in the C4 Corvette and call it a day.
