Put a double rudder on it. It makes controlling really accurate.

I might try it again. The reason why i only used a single one is that i wanted to have it mechanically simple and with a double rudder the rotation axis is either off in between the rudders or a linkage would be needed which makes is more complex and less rigid. I thought with a propeller this small a single one should be sufficient but at high speeds a double rudder may be better.

I intend to make it as my very first RC project. How do you go about interfacing? I mean, what's the universal cheap set of transmitters and receivers I can use for this and my future simpleton projects? 2 axis (channels) are minimum, 3 desirable.

Being a fan of opentx i would say a frsky x9 maybe but there are others at a similar or lower price as well around 100$. I would not go too basic as a proper opentx transmitter is not that much more expensive and will last you for a long time. Check what others are using, compare features and prices and in the end you need to decide whats worth it for you.

@@Gigawipf Opentx is the keyword then, thanks. Again, as a total noob in this, what's the composition of a transmitter-receiver system? A receiver in the vehicle and a transmitter that is separate to the remote controller and bought separately?

@@Tome4kkkk You need a receiver in your vehicle thats compatible to your transmitter (the remote controller). Most manufacturers have their own protocols so you need to check what works with what. For frsky for example the new protocol is ACCESS while the older one i use is ACCST and even there you may have different firmwares depending on the region of sale (EU & non EU) which are not compatible with each other. Make sure to read about that and check compatibility lists.

@@Gigawipf Will do, thanks. Just FYI, I've discovered you through your openffb wheel project, thinking it's going to be rather easy to just slap a wheel on a serwo axle to get a cheap direct drive wheel. You probably saved me a year of my life :D

doing it with differential trust is fun =)

It can work on water?
@Gigawipf5 жыл бұрын
Kind of. Yes it will hover on water but i would add some safety floats under the surface or it will sink if it flips.

I swear I've seen this video somewhere else before.
