Great video man, glad you did a separate video for 100-500k. that is the phase of business I am in now. I am going to take a year to save capital before moving to 500k

How much capital do you recommend to have saved to make the jump from 200k-500k?

Mike , your videos are fenomenal! Thank you so much.I have a company in Spain and business is booming, I take as much as I can from your videos to try and use it here since it's different style of gardening.The company includes my brother and my Father and 3 employees. I was wondering if you have any tips for a company that has kind of 3 bosses.We split equally the profit and its deffinetly lower than it would be if I was solo boss but this way we can be on 3 fronts. I wonder what tips can you give us so we can use it to our advantage cause right now we do good but that's all and I feel we could be much bigger being 3 owners.

Mike, during the growth stage of 100K to 200K, what should I be shooting for in terms of paying that helper that will be in the truck with me ?

What size are the yards where you can do 100 a week? That would take us 13-14 hours a day on a 5 day week

Hey Mike! How many crew members should someone have to reach the 500k benchmark? 4-6 crew members plus the owner?
@MikeAndes2 жыл бұрын
Yes. That would be a pretty lean operation ✅👍🏻 spends heavily on services that are offered

If your company is structured properly you can absolutely be far more profitable at 500,000 then you are at 200,000. I have been in business now for 18 years and this is an absolute certainty. Telling somebody to take a break for a year does not seem like good advice. If a person has the drive and or momentum they should push through but constantly analyze and adjust for more profit. I like watching Lawn Care KZbinrs because I find the content entertaining and sometimes interesting. What is a little frustrating is when people put their opinions out as fact and in many cases are incorrect. All that being said, I certainly commend you on your achievements. What you have accomplished since you started your business is beyond impressive to me.

I base my opinion on the thousands of landscapers that I have talked to and seen who ends up giving up or scaling back… yes, there are a percentage of owners that make more profit at $500K but the vast majority don’t structure the business correctly to take the massive hit on margins when they go from revenue-producing to overhead labor
@JusticeTiger19802 жыл бұрын
@@MikeAndes why does the owner need to stop producing revenue? Why couldn’t he split his time and focus on the more profitable task that have twice the margins than the mowing service. When doing so he can still produce the same amount of revenue that he was producing in half the time and dedicate the rest of his time to growing the business. I 100% agree that cost will always go up with growth and at certain points you will not be more profitable or even be less profitable. However, I know from experience that there are always creative ways to structure a business and create more profit. If you ever open up your channel to having friendly debates on these types of topics, I would love to participate. I think it would be very interesting for your viewers and potentially produce a lot of great ideas.

@@4.0gpa44 In my case my employees had their hands full with maintenance alone. I could pick and choose the most profitable jobs to take on which more than covered the increased overhead. We also got to a point where we would only take on neighbors of our current customers so the pricing was very easy for my crew leaders to handle. It really is all about the structure of the business. There are many ways you can structure a lawn service and what works for one may not work for others.

That might work where u live in a big city or near a big city but my little town it would be hard to do 10,000 a year. All depends on where u live I think 🤔

We grew to $1M+ in a little town called Blaine, WA (6000 population)… that being said it is likely when town is that small you will need to diversify service offering

100 yards a week EASILY? 20 yards in a day with 2 people? I imagine they're very small yards in this case. I didn't realize that was the standard
