Michael (& Gerard), you captured the essence of some epic moments in time that the books/movies depicted, but in somewhat static form, though VERY interactive. With so much action going on there, that’s no small feat. The animations of the characters with the sounds going on really brings the imagination to life and the special effects make the location itself a living, breathing piece of art. I am so happy you highlighted the snapshot of Gimli standing on Balin’s tomb, light streaming in behind him, illuminating the deepest dark of the mausoleum. It brought the empathy and heartbreak I felt for him, seeing his grief & rage at a once grand city, bustling with life, love, family, the work put in to create & maintain such a realm, reduced to dust and death and infested with dark dissidents who bear no respect. I loved seeing the process it took to make this and the difference in design between both you & Gerard. Interpretations are wonderful things. I am glad some improvements were discovered along the way to help future iterations. I know you are happy to reach that finish line & move forward with the next project. Looking forward to seeing it all. Thank you for keeping my love alive for this great world Tolkien created, and the creativity shared to bring it to life in many forms.

WOW ... this is EPIC! I'm just starting my first ever book nook, so I'm watching videos like crazy to learn various techniques and what tools would be handy, and what I can make do with on a limited budget. This video popped up in the recommends (so that side of KZbin is working for you) and after thinking 'This will be a little boring' I was sat hooked on this video. To the point where I paused and re watched a few sections as the information you gave went by so quickly. It was also great to see and hear how your project went from a solo project, to a collaboration with Gerard, and how he took the same concept, same scenic pieces and layout . ... and cam up with a completely different interpretation of your idea. Love collaborations. I work in the world of entertainment, creating, producing and performing shows for family audiences and I'm used to special FX. BUT I learned a LOT from your video on reed switches, smoke and making things work by having objects just in proximity to these switches..... Thank you for that ... already planning on using these ideas and building them into props for next years show. :-) Oh, and I've subbed to your channel too :-) Keep on being creative and awesome :-)

Hey Shane, thanks for the comment! That sounds like a really cool Book Nook idea... I guess the only advice I have, without knowing exactly what you plan, is to make sure you have all your channels for wiring and tubing cut before you glue anything. I avoid gluing as much as possible until I have the layout just the way I want it. Also, avoid using card board for your box as it will warp, mdf is the way to go in my opinion. I would love to see that book nook when its done... Do you have instagram ?
