I've had the chance to use this table a couple of times now. It's fun to whip out in front of people:) I can see what people are talking about when they say the legs are delicate, but they're design to support a "mostly" vertical load, not be torqued from the side or pushed back into place. If you just let the table open or close on it's own and don't force anything, it works great kzbin.infoUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh Once it's set up, it's pretty solid. My only gripe would probably be related to the clamps provided. They're not the highest quality. They do the job, so no big deal, but they could be better. All in all, pretty cool gadget.

Good job, functional, and thrifty. For 99% of people this is the kind of workbench they need. Not a european, master craftsman piece of fine furniture.

More power to you for taking the time to show others how to build an inexpensive bench. We all would have done something different in the build. Take pride in knowing you just made what many couldn’t make or would spend 200 for.

I would go crazy drilling a pilot hole, driving a screw, drilling a pilot hole, driving a screw. Just drill all of your pilot holes and then drive all your screws.
@davidarmenta48125 жыл бұрын
haha I never noticed I did that!
@averagejoe48375 жыл бұрын
Well, if you don't have enough clamps to keep everything in place(3 clamp is not very many), drilling one pilot then running a screw is a very useful method to keep something in place while you drill the rest of your pilot holes. If it works, don't knock it.

Maybe I missed this, but why are two legs 2x4s and the other two 4x4? Nice video by the way ... so many workbench videos require tools I don't have, like miter saws and planers, etc. Thanks!

I watched the complete video. I like your idea moving the bottom shelf away from where you are likely to whack your shins. I believe that it takes a real strong person to put their work on KZbin. All the wanna be experts that wouldn't know a shelf from a cargo container are simply whining because they don't have the skill or cajones to put some of their projects on KZbin. We all start out somewhere. Some never make it. Some become recognized experts. Most do it just because we enjoy the satisfaction of making something with our own hands and skill. If you build it and it makes you happy, all the others can kiss your butt. KEEP GOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lost me when he pulled out the circular saw. My non-existent carpentry skills won't even let me cut a straight line with a circular saw (Hell, any kind of saw). Still, I keep trying. Put a deck on my house 10 years ago and I bet there isn't a right angle in the entire thing. It serves it's purpose though.
