Hi Luke, really enjoying this series of instructional videos. Your explanations and pointers are excellent. Great job! Have you ever considered using pin head machine screw instead of countersinking? The dome shape of the head wouldn’t impede and as it’s an Allen key job, more secure. Looking forward to completing the series.

Hey Morgan, thanks! Yeah, I have considered it. A Button head screw would work. The change in hydrodynamics would be small, and as you say you get the benefit of a more solid connection compressing downward. That said, the countersunk screws do work, particularly if you leave them slightly proud, and you do get a flatter finish. Either would be fine. I actually find the Torx/star head screws to be the best. Let me know how you progress :)

@@FlukesKitesurfing thanks Luke. It would be minimal effect, the drag would be tiny, as would turbulence. I’m a little way away from taking on a build. But when I do I’ll let you know. 👍🏼 I’ve made 3 surfboards, so I might tackle a foil board build too.
