I could not agree with you more. This was a really good and helpful vlog Amie! I am someone who is easily influenced by content creators when an unboxing takes place. I seem to fall in love with absolutely everything! I try very hard not to fall victim to my impulses when it comes to luxury. I have to make a concerted effort to wait and sit on it for a while. If I still have strong feelings for the bag after a decent amount of time has passed, then I buy it. To be honest though, nine times out of ten, I fall out of love with the bag I was drooling over and am happy (and relieved) that I didn’t jump the gun and get it. I really cannot believe how much my taste in handbags has changed and evolved, even in just the last year.

I totally agree. I love buying and investing in luxury handbags and shoes and recently purchased the Hermes Kelly belts in black and tan which were my first expensive belts, however, since they are adjustable, it's been amazing to wear. But then I look for more high street or boutique finds for clothing since I feel like that goes more on trends. I love Zara, H&M and Abercrombie is my recent find for things I can wear to work and out and about but aren't too expensive. I will though spend money on colorful pricey bags because I love color but that's more for myself and my taste, however, I will also pay attention to what colors I may already have and try to then do a neutral etc. I just added the Coco Top Handle in large size in a tan from Chanel and love that as a nice neutral. Love this video!

I'd add picking versatile items. Shoes that go with most things, reversible belts, handbags that will be used often and can be worn multiple ways...

I agree. My modis operandi is if I buy a luxury bag it will always be a classic style and usually a neutral colour. If I want a trendy style or colour then I will buy a much less expensive contemporary brand bag. Blue is very popular at the moment and it’s one of my favourite colours so I bought a Demellier Vancouver in azure and it’s such a beautifully made bag and a gorgeous pure cobalt blue, so that has satisfied my desire for a blue bag.

You’re the voice of reason that I unfortunately never hear when I make my shopping purchases hahahaha the heart wants what it wants 😂 I’m kind of the one that just mixes and matches everything bc I’m lacking in neutrals. I’m convinced that one day it’ll click when I’m past my colorful stage of life hahaha I often think of your brighter bags that are now in new homes, so I feel perhaps I’m just in your earlier phase? 😂 My brain gets that bright and bold colors are not always practical, yet here I am 😂 It’s not even like I can pull it off well either. Thanks for sharing, Amie! You have the loveliest neutral collection when it comes to handbags and coats. I've been inspired by fashionista oldies that truly have their personal style down. Many of them actually carry pretty trendy pieces but they don't look dated because rather than trendy, it's just their "signature look" if that makes sense. Right now I'm definitely figuring out my personal style rather than going for the cookie cutter looks on social media.

Certainly, i agree with you Amie. I have to think hard and also wait out on it for these luxury purchases and to see if i still like the style. At times, i get the dupe (not fake) version to try out the style first even before embarking for such an expensive purchase. I know some may say is a waste of money to buy something dupe or similar style, but it is good for someone who do not know if the style is working for them or not until one owns it and try it out. Yes i only get those neutral color belts and the size would be from 15cm to max 25cm. Thanks for sharing 😘🤗

Fashion always changes, none of the bags are actually timeless. 100 years ago women carried small beaded pouches, not entire satchels. I buy what I find currently useful and fashionable.

I used to have a very extensive wishlist of bags but now I’m trying to stick to one or two per size/type/theme and thinking about what I can pass down to my daughter aka bags that have a good history of being vintage, reissued or still sold decades later.

Hi Amie any advice on how to downsize my closet to just staples and a couple of sweatshirts. I’m getting older and I’m trying to add staples and a minimal wardrobe it’s been a struggle 😂. I just love your closet so chic and classic. 😁

Oh it's SO hard to downsize! I definitely have to be in the right frame of mind before decluttering anything haha. It takes so much mental + emotional energy! My biggest tip is to pull clothes out as you get dressed/ walk past your closet and put it in a 'decide later' bin or bag. I find it SO much easier to part ways with something when it's not a final decision haha. I put the bag out of sight and then revisit it a few weeks later. By then, I'm usually not fussed about parting ways with anything in there but it's a much easier & gentler process :) xx

I would recommend watching "the daily connoisseur" videos on the 10 item wardrobe. She does a good job promoting the mindset behind it, even though I've actually never gotten around to implementing 😅

I’ve been watching your channel for a very long time and I just absolutely love your collection now, but I was watching you way back when you were just starting to build your collection and your wardrobe inspires me. I am 48 almost 49 and I think it’s time for me to dress a little bit more classic.
