I'm trying to barricade my Sulcata to my backyard. Would I have to bury the fence in the ground where its sandy, If so how deep? I was thinking of doing a perimeter of this metal along my wooden fence so he doesn't go under.

I don't bury mine at all. They will dig for shelter but not to escape. Generally if they are provided a temperature controlled shelter they won't dig. If your tortoise is trying to dig under the fence you could certainly pound this into the ground to help though.

Sorry if I missed it, but how tall are the panels?
@azsulcata3 жыл бұрын
They come in different sizes but usually they are about 4x16 or 5x16 and I cut them down to about 2' - 2.5' tall with an angle grinder.

Before I built my slump stone block pen I used metal stakes 4’ apart to attach 1/2” welded wire them. I then bought 1’x6” boards I used as kickers boards along the bottom so they can’t see what’s on the other side and won’t keep pushing against the fence. I attached them to the stakes by drilling two small holes at the top and bottom on each side of the stakes and used zip ties to attached them to the stakes
