Interesting video . It's always nice to see how things were and what they are now . Funny crack about building a wall on the Canadian side . Ha ha . Only an hour from home . Must be nice . Lucky you had all of the out buildings to store your stuff while you were building . Thanks
@KnettersPracticalOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the outbuildings we could store some stuff and then the existing camp for staying in, KPO.

Take your time and plan it out. Think about what you want to do there, how many people using it, how modern do you want it (electricity, water, kitchen, bathroom). All those things come into play with the size and design of the camp. Thanks for watching, KPO.

I'm just wondering where you find the pine wood paneling you had in 4x8 sheets? I've looked in menards and lowes and can't seem to find any.
@KnettersPracticalOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
It looked like 4 by 8 sheets in the pile but it was actually 8 inch wide tongue and groove boards. Thanks for watching, KPO.

Two Lesbians built a house in the woods - there wasnt a stud in the whole house - just lots of tongue and groove!! Great videos guys!! Reminds me of the deer camp We had when I was younger - much younger! Ha Ha ! Greetings from Perth Ontario Canada!! Just wondering - you didnt insulate the floor.

LOL! If we used it more in the winter we may have insulated the floor. Thanks for adding in, KPO.

Wondering how you deal with the constant battle with mice.
@KnettersPracticalOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Dan, I'm glad you asked. Check out this video I did about three years ago LINK - kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5_GpKCoZtt7o8U The mice in this vid got in because of the tarped up doorway. But since we put on a real door and trapped them out we haven't had any mice issues. Our camp must be mouse proof because we just don't get them in the camp anymore. But most camps aren't mouse proof and that's were "The Wheel Of Death" comes in. If you are dealing with mice issues try to seek out any openings and seal them up. Thanks for watching, KPO.
@richardcleasby1054 жыл бұрын
Did you stay at the camp during construction?
@KnettersPracticalOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Yes, of course the existing camp was set up for sleeping and all that stuff. Sometimes for short projects we might make a day trip, but mostly we would stay 2 - 4 nights at a time, KPO.

Donnie, yes, I have had a few published articles in In-Fisherman over the years. I'm assuming you have read the most current issue that contains my story "The Heat Cushion"? I have been a subscriber to In-Fisherman for 25 years so to be able to share stories like that one, through their magazine, is pretty cool. Thanks for watching AND reading! KPO
