Just a little thing I wished I knew when starting this game years ago. By default "V" puts you in third person If you press Left alt you will go into like a free view, but if you scroll the middle mouse button you can move away or closer to the ship. Also page up and down moves the height of your view. If you have difficulty go into your options menu all the mapped keys are there. Great video Spanj I'm still learning about the Thruster placements myself.

sir, we regret to inform you that your commonwealth card has been revoked for your very american pronunciation of the letter Z. In all seriousness, thank you once again for some great content, your since of style and your ability to build quickly with style is quite mind blowing. If you don't mind me chiming in, I would like to add some advice for new builders. (as I've just started playing again after a few years absence, some of the hard lessons are fresh in my mind) For God's sake keep track of which direction your ship is facing.... trust me. Build the frame of the idea you have first. Place as near to all of the devices possible (i.e. thrusters, fuel tanks, generators, O2 tanks, warp drives, really anything of substance). Now start testing. Don't wait until you've spent 3 nights and 4k blocks flushing out the look. Test it now!! in space and on planet. If you have to make changes to thruster placement or large devices, now is the time. save often (blueprint). you can delete starter_sv.1,2,3,4, and 5 later, but if you make a major mistake it's nice to be able to start just one step back. Test often. After your initial testing with a frame and most of your devices, things will change as you add weight. Get in the habit of flying it quite often during building, and checking the statistics to keep track of where it's headed. It helped me to write down the statistics as I went. Test with weight in it. I was quite shocked to find how differently my new CV handled after spawning it into a server and loading it with ammo. Luckily I had the space to move my ammo controller to correct it. And lastly quite a few of the builds I was happy with in creative found their way into the dust bin after using them on a live server. So now I don't do all the paint, texture, deco, or whatever until I know that the design is a keeper. Once again, thank you for the excellent content. Your ships are awesome!

DOH!! Just started playing and built a harvester and miner, while in survival, wasting so much material, and all but mining the moon in to an asteroid, lmao. Harvester came out great! But while I was out mining for ore for the miner, I discovered the landing spot I had put it on was not a landing spot, and it fell through the roof in to my base. Unfortunately the multi tool I found while following the story line, had just ran out of charges.

I suspect those items are meant for 'ultra-basic' HVs rather than an SV. Given the weight of even a 'no-frills' SV (as compared to an equivalent HV), you'd wind up with an SV that flies like a pig that needs to be constantly topped-off. Now where the one by's would be useful is adding them in to give a vessel (HV / SV) a slight buffer, power & fuel wise (think APU).

Can't build the creative, crazy, unique and outlandish designs i want to build in that system, so i ignore it all together. It's just complete rubbish and i don't get how no one else sees that. Even the great jrandall hates the system.

Once again, the devs at Eleon gave us the answer to a question that (nobody sane) asked. But in Spanj's defense, Eleon has seriously buggered the flight mechanics when considering "server play" (vs single-player / non-server)...just have a chat with the owner of the Unknown Skies server to get an earful on that topic. ;-) True be told, everything they've done since the start of A10 is meant to hobble the PvP maniacs (at the expense of the other (95%) EGS players...). (And as you might guess, I play with M&V off as well...) P.S. -- Love your builds in the workshop. ;-D

If you start a video for a survival build game with "the first thing you want to do is go into creative" then you've already defeated the purpose. I want to know how people build these ships when the snap feature is so bad and you can't build downwards nor can you lay a foundation because parts can't be built without the core. (edit) Again, you're building in space in creative god mode. If you want to show players how to do this, show them in survival on the ground. If I wanted to play in god mode I'd just go back to playing gary's mod.
@livinglifeinanrv54733 жыл бұрын
he is not 'playing;' in god mod, just the building. The build technique that he showed could be done on the ground or even in space on survival mode. Also the game has blueprints there for a reason. In addition, the title for this video is NOT "how to build your first ship in survival mode" but rather "HOW TO BUILD YOUR FIRST SMALL SHIP".. So stop being an ass and realize that what he was showing is helpful.
