Thank you Jeff! I’ve been a skinny hard gainer my whole life. I just turned 40. Which I know you know what I’m getting at on that one. Needed this guidance to add more focus to my shoulder day tomorrow. “Elbows out, supination & try not to slouch over-stretching the rear delt,” or from unbalanced focus on the chest. I’ve finally started to see real gains since I started heeding your guidance. Can’t afford a program yet. But when I can, you’ve earned my respect & patronage for what it’s worth. You & Jess crack my s#*% up too dude! Keep it comin guys!! B-)

I think Jeff is one of the most helpful, selfless guys out there. I get so much free advice from him, it all works - no gimmicks or BS, and I really, really appreciate his insight and advice. I've seen a lot of these guys out there who are trying to get you on a program, or who are obviously jacked up on steroids and more into themselves or bagging on someone else than they are about showing you how to really perform a lift properly. So - THANKS Jeff, and Athlean X, for the service you provide here.

reverse flies hit the trapezius, rhomboids and posterior deltoids
@SuspiriaX
@SuspiriaX Жыл бұрын
@@Sol-01 posterior = rear which is exactly what this video disproves.. reverse flies barely tax them as to the trapezius and rhomboids these only activate when you don't keep your torso square so keep that torso square and you're golden when it comes to rear delts
@Sol-01
@Sol-01 Жыл бұрын
@@SuspiriaX Depends on how you do them. Seated, you are right, if you incline yourself than it does hit posterior deltoids
@SuspiriaX
@SuspiriaX Жыл бұрын
@@Sol-01 hey yeah so i was already talking inclined thing is.. how i understand it the reverse flies hit much more rhomboids and some mid/low trapezius yet only very little posterior deltoid. so if you really want to focus purely on the posterior deltoid (which this video is about) then reverse flies isn't really gonna do it because the trap and rhomboids added together are automatically going to take over without you noticing. a lot of people have never even felt their deltoids even once during workouts so if you don't know what feeling you're looking for then you're going to think you're training them but alas it is mostly traps and rhomboids. so in this video he shows us how to purely focus on the deltoid so you will actually get acquainted with it. i tried it and i can tell you i never knew this muscle before. never isolated it like this.

I do nearly the same thing on a chest-supported T-Bar Row with a wide grip and elbows out. The shape of the t-bar allows for maximum extension compared to a barbell or any attachment on a cable row. Posterior delt and mid/upper back KILLER.

Quick question to ATHLEAN-X You have been training for a long time. How is your recent progression in strength? (can be from last month or from many years ago) When you train, is your mindset in improvement or is your mindset in simply completing a hard training session to maintain what you have?

GoVegMofoMakeAMuffin this exercise adds more external rotation than a face pull.
@govegmofomakeamuffin6620
@govegmofomakeamuffin6620 7 жыл бұрын
I might be mistaking what external rotation means but the face pulls that I do are essentially W raises but standing with cables. I'd imagine they offer more external rotation if what that means is your hands rotate out towards your back

Well.. I guess the side lateral raise has to share its place at the top of my favorite shoulder exercises with this one now. My rear delts used to be the part of my shoulder that was developed the least, despite me training it in every shoulder training.. now they are obe of my strengths and my front delts are the worst..
