You have to make sure you read and review the contract, dont be afraid to contact the producer to create a contract catered to you, in most cases if you bought a lease it's best you go back and purchase the beat exclusively

Thank you for the question, and if you are leasing the beat then the producer would be selling the beat once again, if you were to purchase the beat exclusively then the producer will take the beat off of sale and give you roughly 50% of the ownership which is the writers side of the song. You will be able to release the song on streaming platformals and shoot a video on it and promote the track freely

I wouldn't post the same content on ig then tik tok because of the time length between the 2 but I would post the same song if it is a song just a different video for it

I am a singer/songwriter and I am unsure how it works when I want to buy a beat/track and write and sing on it. What are the rules? Can I change it? How do I credit the producer? Do I get the stems of the track if I want to change the layout of the track or add instruments? It's all so confusing!

Heres my question. When someone buys a beat from your store. They would get an mp3/wav or trackout whatever file it may be. After that singer makes a song with ur beat, how do you track your royalties as a producer to ensure you are credited and get ur 50% writer share which is stated in the Beatstars contract agreement. Can a person who bought your beat, take those files make a song put it on distrokid/cdbaby/tunecore and you as a producer never see your cut of the royalties?

Thank you for the question, their will be some artist that try to just make a song and go, it is your duty to build the relationship up so you know exactly what they will be doing with the track they purchase from you. When the song is released on streaming platforms you should be recieving a cut from the streams which should be 50% or what your contracts state and for anything sync you should be getting 50% publishing and 50% writers share. A way to avoid the problem is to put your beats on streaming platforms and you can add the artist name so when they search for the song the beat pops up as well.

@@CyrilJewels Understood, but what happens if when you are trying to build the relationship the artist is ignoring, emails, text and calls and refuses to communicate, as means of trying to steal and go. Do you lawyer up or let it go as a stolen beat. Also when the artist releases the song through their distribution lets say distrokid, I assume its their responsibility to put in your 50% as producer share, anything you can do if they decided not to and they put 100% in their upload.
