Tessie, God moves in mysterious ways, my mother used to say that to me.I am disabled & slipped & lost my grip on the crockpot from my slower cooker it smashed.I was so upset.I later looked online at a free ads site & found an offer for a brand new “Power Pressure Cooker XL” for FREE amazingly I only had to go up the road from where I live to collect it.I just cried with joy when I found it has a program for canning/preserving! God is good & he has brought this amazing gift to me.Im so excited I have learnt how to can from you exceptional videos & now I have the means too.God Bless you & yours.Love from Lizzie.

I love how you organize yourself for you big canning recipes. I am totally exhausted after a day of canning. Watching you, shows me why. I should be doing half the work the day before, now I can be more organized, like you, and I can hold up to can again. I’m about to buy another Presto cooker so I can do two cookers at once. 90 min standing in front of a cooker is a lot, I might as well watch two cookers at once. Thanks for this recipe. I’m going to try it.

If you are adding smoked bacon, it will give you that hickory smoke flavor in the beans. When the bacon isn't smoked, then I too, add the liquid smoke. You are right, it does make a wonderful flavor in the beans.

Woohoooo! I was soooo hoping that you had a baked beans recipe! Puerto Rico has every bean imaginable in stores...except baked beans, which I LOVE! For a while they had the Goya baked beans but they just disappeared. I occasionally find the Campbell's but they really lack in flavor and are kinda watery in my opinion. I have found that there is a big difference between "baked beans" and "pork and beans." You have outdone yourself, yet again, sweetie pie! Thank you and God bless!

Tessie, I'm so excited! My beans are in the canner now. I have a ladle that holds 2/3 cup, so I used two scoops per jar and got 9-pint jars of beans. Your recipe sounds delicious, but I have a recipe for baked beans that has been passed down in my family, and I wanted my canned beans to taste the same, so I adjusted your ingredients just a bit. They're going to be SO good. It looks like I'm going to have to make another batch to have enough for the year. Thanks for making this video!

Hi Tessie! Just wondering if you knew that all that sunlight is breaking down your food in your jars. if you took some tin foil ( if you cannot afford something different) and blocked those windows the food you worked so hard to put up will last so much longer. PS beans would be 90 mins in quarts as well, not just the bacon.Meat and dried beans have the same time =)

God does provide! We can't afford to buy a new high chair and I really want to find a good used one. We were driving down a road just this past weekend and we saw a garage sale sign and I don't normally stop but from watching how you've been a proven case that god provides if you ask.. I said what the heck I'll check it out.. Not only did I find a wonderful high chair but a lot of other things I've been wanting to find. That day I got pretty much everything on my "used wish list" and only spent 20 dollars! So thank you so mych Tessie. You've been helping me see the value in things better than I ever have.

In my pantry, dried beans seem to multiply. And, much to my chagrin, the rye bread I buy at the store does it too, only in the freezer. ooops!! Glad to see you're canning stuff today; on the last vid you commented to someone that you need to get going on that. Doesn't it feel good to tackle things on our lists!!! September is when I can a year's worth of baked beans; when I can up my tomatoes I use a food mill to take care of the skins; the watery puree that comes of the mill goes through a colander. That's the stuff that goes into tomato-whatever - it really cuts down on reducing time, by a longshot~ The thin juice that comes out either goes into canning baked beans or meat, or gets canned alone (for a nice beverage or to go into soup) and the skins either go to the chickens or get put into a bag in the freezer to make broth one day. Last year we had about 200 lbs of tomatoes come out of our garden - mostly green as the grass. I was canning them as they ripened, and I think I canned the last bunch mid-November. Nice way to heat the house on a cool fall day. Wonder how many tomatoes I'll get this year!

the mill is totally worth it if you're doing a whole lota one thing. I discovered that instead of peeling tomatoes, I can just roughly chop them, boil them up until they're soft, then take my hand mixer (the kind with two beaters, that you usually use to whip whipping cream) and whip it GENTLY, you can easily fish out the skin - make sure you wear a dark, long sleeved shirt - ask me why :) - all that instead of taking out the food mill for just 10 pounds or so of tomatoes. You'd think I was feeding an army with how much canning I do...or that I'm ready for when the grid goes down. My friend on youtube, Jnull0 said it best...I think he says it's all about a life changing events.... when my hubbie was out of work this past winter, we ate normal because of all the stuff I had canned up already. Really satisfying! Working hard on getting to that level again this summer. We 've got a lot of canning from other years but it has helped us through what would've been WAY tougher times otherwise. if you do find a food strainer, make sure the little circle gasgets are there. That'd be a small, thin piece of plastic that normally is inside the cone-shaped strainer; it's about 2 1/2 inches across give or take. You can get replacement parts online. maybe ebay? You're gonna need that strainer for grape season...must be almost ready, right? VID IDEA.....the grape update. If you'd like some new recipes for grapey things, I've got tons....gimme a sec

syrup, homemade raisins, (rum raisin sauce), leather, quick jam (takes Pomona's pectin; you should check that out, it's awesome!), spiced jam, g jelly with green apples....google might have 'em but I've got recipe books...might even have more recipes if I dig hard. www.pickyourown.org has lots of ideas about where to get steamer juicers, food mills....I'd better stop, cause I could keep going!
