Pro tip: If you want your oxalis to grow like crazy and have a lot of flowers, direct sun is the best. At first the leaves will die, but then grow back bigger and more magenta. Also one of the easiest plants to propagate (seriously, fool proof), just put one leave in water an forget about it, one month later you will have a lot of roots and babies ☘😁

Adding rocks to plants can actually promote root rot. It's called the perched water table effect. Betsy Begonia and Epic Gardening both made helpful video's on how this works.

If you let the Monstera Adansonii grow down the leaves remain small. But if you encourage the plant up a moss pole they will get larger.

Hi Dani! I have an extra tip for you: I noticed your fiddle leaf fig 's roots are coming out off the pot's drainage holes. That means you got to repot him into a bigger pot because he's literally growing out of it's current pot. My local plant expert advices reporting in a pot that's 20% bigger then the pot he's currently in. That way the shock of repotting is the smallest. Best do it after the move though, because if the plant's not firmly rooted into the soil yet, he might get much more easily damaged during the moving proces ;-)

Everybody telling you to repot your fiddle leaf fig is so bossy! I get they're trying to be helpful, but sometimes people purposely keep their plants rootbound if they don't want them to get bigger. Planterina has tons of healthy, rootbound plants. Just my two cents haha. Great video, Danie 👍

How do you water a rootbound plant? I was having trouble with an ag that there wasn't any soil by the roots, so all the water was flowing past them and the plant remained thirsty. I repotted to fix it.

Yellow leaves on a philodendron mean it's getting too much water...not too much light. Totally...about the fiddle leaf fig. I call mine Goldilocks. If you want more plants of the ones you have (Pothos & Philodendron) & also to make it denser cut off quite a few "ends" put in water & the replant in same pot or a new pot / hanging basket, letting them get too long makes the plant over work trying to get nutrients to the ends, Hi from Australia.

The only plant I can keep alive is a pothos plant. They are fairly easy to propagate, so I normally have several small ball jars with cutting in them.... ready to be planted in a new pot. So it is a great money saver, as many of my potted plants are "children" from my older plants. My FAVORITE plant has to be the oxalis triangularis, so I have already started looking for one to buy in my area!

A really nice collection and they look really healthy ☺️ Just wanted to let you know the monstera leaf will not split were there is a hole. The way the leaf comes out the way it will be. Danie, re philodendron: It’s so delicate! Me: *looks to my right at a philodendron with leaves bigger than my head* ...Not all of them are delicate. 😂 I find that the trailing philodendrons are easier to keep alive than the bushier kind with more succulent stems. I’ve killed most of my exotic philodendrons for one reason or another. Whereas my trailing philodendrons (the regular heart-leaf ones, as well as several Brasils) have mostly survived my blatant neglect. I find they bounce back pretty well from underwatering.

Sometimes you'll try a plant and find there is just no way to keep it happy in any of the places you can offer. That's absolutely fine and not your fault. Find it a different home and try something else. 😊

We always had plants in my house when I was growing up. So when I moved out on my own, one of the first things I got was a plant. 🙂 I then ended up being adopted by 5 cats... So I just bought a plant hanger and instead of letting Phyllis (philodendron) sit on the counter, I just hung her near a window. There were no shelves nearby so I didn't have to worry about the cats getting to her. When her vines got too long I would just flip them over the top so the cats couldn't reach her. 🙂

@@janedoe932 also they store the water in their leaves. If you leave them to dry out for a week or two, you'll notice the leaves get soft and a little droopy and even some tiny 'wrinkles' depending on the type. If you water them the next day you will notice the leaves feel much thicker, fuller and are really plump. This whole process is normal and does not harm the succulent. I even feel like they do a lot better with drying out and watering cycles then if you keep them in constant slightly moist soil..

LOVED THIS! My faves are pothos and fiddle leaf fig, I have both! I must say tho that my fig plant has been very easy to take care of, maybe she’s less of a diva or maybe she just matches my diva ness? Haha! Can’t wait to see the next video in the plant shop ❤️

The little Ficus Monstera is sold here as Monstera Monkey. It grows in my North facing window like crazy. Love it, so do the lice ;>p My own fault, I cut flowers from my garden, sometimes lice sneak in that way.

Where did you get the little Ghibli forest spirits under the office philodendron?? They are so cute! P.S. As a military spouse, I'm usually pretty unmotivated to put effort into decorating since I know I'll have to pack it all up and move a year or two later. That has all changed thanks to you! You have inspired me to do so many diy's that will finally make wherever we live feel like home (even if it means more packing!). Thank you so much ❤
