My last fishing trip (actually at Juno too) was a very strange thing. There were a decent amount of guys out on the pier fishing specifically for snook, but they were completely ignoring the bait. Meanwhile, I hooked one (on 14lb test) and It unraveled right above my hook. I was using cut mullet and everyone else was using live baitfish.

fish the passes in summer with 25-30lb flouro leader 10-15lb braid and a 3" slayer inc swimbait (or a doa cal swimbait) in a natural color with a 1/16-1/4 oz jighead depending on depth i usually go with 1/8-1/4 because heavy current in passes but another tip is to get one natural color like white or white and greenback or silver black back and get one in a different color i love purple swimbaits especially for pressured snook because most of them probably never seen a purple lure and purple is good for immitating pinfish

@@tylershaffer4287 thanks bro for the tip .ill check out the lures set up i normally aready fish 15 pound braid with 20 pound flouro leader but i haven't tried those lures yet. ill try them out

@tylershaffer42874 жыл бұрын
they can be tough especially the ones that are 30"+ but getting the schoolys that are 15-26" arent bad usaully if you arnt catching any either they arnt there, not using the right lure/bait, or they are very pressured (like piers). i never fish piers for snook because of that reason plus all the people and googans around asking for fish i catch to keep (im a sport fisherman so im 95% catch and release) so i dont give fish away it feels good to see a fish safely caught and swim off healthy but i live on the sw coast of florida and i can normally go to a pass and catch up to 10 snook in a couple hours on artificial or live bait sure they are mainly 3-6 lbers but theyre a blast on a med light rod or a flyrodb

Thank you for actually talking about how to catch snook and going straight to the point. Most videos out there titled "how to catch snook" are just dudes talking bs and cutting to a shot of then catching a few snook but teaching nothing.

Kinda surprised you didn’t mention Pinfish as a Snook bait. They’re generally available in bait shops, they rarely get stolen, and they’re Snook Candy!

I hooked into 3 snook since last Thursday, each time the line snapped, 1 because it was a 10 lb snook on 12 lb test, the the others because the drag was too high
@SupremeFishingSF4 жыл бұрын
You should definitely beef the tackle up. If you are in open water I’d go 20-30lb braid if you are around tight structure 40-50lb braid is ideal. For leader I’d go with a 40-60lb mono leader.

Can someone explain to me how to fish the trough on the beach
@SupremeFishingSF4 жыл бұрын
The trough is a small dip in the beach where bait fish will stage up in. Snook will tend to be in that trough eating bait fish. The best way to fish it is cast at an angle in the beach in that way your bait is sitting in the strike zone for a longer amount of time
@elliot244564 жыл бұрын
Supreme Fishing But how do you know where the trough is? Because when I’m at the beach I normally don’t see a dip. Please and thank you
