Thank you for this video. Feel like I spent way too long searching for someone to do this correctly and most importantly cut right to the chase.

Great instructions the best yet I wish EGO would not have put the bolts on so tight frustrating

Nice job on the video on how to change out the lawn mower blades. I just bought the mower and will be changing to the bagging blade. I read the operators manual and will be adding Torquing step to all three nuts/bolts to the recommended factory specs. Center bolt torque setting is 36-43 ft-lb (50-60 N.m.) and two side bolts require torque setting of 22 ft-lb (30N.m.). Maybe you can edit video and add Note across last part of video with torque specs.

Thank you for that advice. I was thinking about making an updated video.

@kevscastle7466 You can just add some text to the end of your original video. I bought the torque tool and it never made the click sound but it wouldn't let me tighten anymore. Getting nuts off took a long time for me. I did resort to WD-40 but still took perseverance and determination to finally free it.

You don’t torque per the owners manual?
@useranonymous1295 Жыл бұрын
Even if you think you do not need them you should be wearing gloves when changing blades, one slip of the wrench and you could get a serious injury.

I see you didn’t use a torque wrench, I thought that was overkill! Thanks

the sizes are 9/16 and 17 mm for correct fit.

The instructions recommend using a torque wrench… any particular reason you don’t use one?

Can the mulching blade be used for bagging grass?
@kimberlyx4060 Жыл бұрын
I have done it but it’s a litter messy. My grass looks better higher and doesn’t like cut short. I specifically purchased this mower for a high lift.
@theaviationastronomychannel Жыл бұрын
@@kimberlyx4060 I think the high lift blade uses more battery than the premium mulching blade but everyone says it makes your lawn look good although I’ve always been a mulcher but I’ll probably give it a try some day.
@gauldenj12 жыл бұрын
Do you have to reinsert the mulching blade or can you just use the single extended runtime blade by itself on this mower?
@kevscastle74662 жыл бұрын
The mulching blade is for making the clippings much finer. That said, i imagine it is okay to use the single blade. But I have not tried it that way yet because I like making the clippings finer, even if I am bagging them for my compost bin.

The manufacturer says you should always use the top blade.

Over a short period of time the metal insert at the center of the white plastic fan fails and makes removal nearly imposdible, even when the center bolt is correctly torqued. It's a bad design.

I just got mine back from "warranty" repair where Ego-approved scam artists charge you for fixing Ego's plastic junk.

Torque to 40 ft-lb on center bolt is critical. Too tight and you fatigue bolt. Too loose and could come apart. Both center and two outside bolt are in millimeters. Manufacturers don’t switch up from inch to metric. Wear gloves.

@garypedigogaeu5787 what happens when the white plastic wheel also begins to rotate?
