The most obvious benefit to changing your air filter is the increased fuel efficiency you’ll see after having it switched. Since it improves air flow to your engine, your car doesn’t have to work as hard, so it burns less gas. Increasing air flow to your engine can also improve the overall performance of your vehicle. If your engine is staying clean, it won’t have to work as hard to get you from point A to B. Finally, from an environmental perspective, your car will see its emission reduced. A clogged filter can actually directly affect the emissions control component of the vehicle, which can lead to a poor air/fuel mixture. Given the large amount of benefits that a clean filter brings (improved fuel economy, overall engine performance and reduced emissions), it should go without saying that having it replaced regularly is very advantageous.

For anyone wondering, it's 5/16 head when using a ratchet.

Easy enuff; BUT the air filter cover is NOT, repeat NOT, that easy to pull out. It helped to unpop the engine cover. Also, I removed the screw on the passenger side with an 8mm wrench because the "lip" is too high and blocks your way of getting to it with a normal screwdriver (you'll notice how he comes in at an angle on that screw in the video). Also, use an 8mm wrench to unsecure the inlet hose to the air filter compartment. Then you can shift the entire assembly to your right towards the driver's side and then you can pull the whole thing out, remove the old filter, give the inside a good wipe-down and install the new filter.

Good video... but you can make it easier to access if you remove the engine cover... makes it easier to get to the filter cover. dude.... where did you get that extension with screw driver and little hex head you use in most of the video... love it !

So, for the life of me, i couldn't remove the front filter housing without un screwing the whole top assembly 🤷🏻

Hi I have purchased a smokers car which filters do I need to get changed and how please mine is a fiat 500 dolcevita its hybrid mild 2022? Would really appreciate your advice
