How to change a front shock strut on TOYOTA AYGO 1 (AB10) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Very helpful. I've started to do it without a balljoint splitter, and I'd say pulling the hub as you did is the only sane way to do it. Getting the foot of the strut back in the hole in the bub carrier is a total nightmare, made worse by my having managed to get the antiroll bar ABOVE the driveshaft....which makes getting the strut right home impossible. I'll finish the job tomorrow but as I didn't have a splitter, I couldn't do the bob properly....but hey, it's the lockdown, helps pass the time!

Sorry for being nosey, but in this video you provide 105Nm torque for fastening bolt where steering knuckle meets strut, while in other videos (e.g. replacing wheel bearings I just watched) this value is just 80Nm. Which value is correct then? As I believe there mustn't be 2 values for the same bolt? Cheers

One other point well worth mentioning (specially if you are using lowering springs!) when you put the foot of the strut back in the steering knuckle/hub carrier/upright, make CERTAIN that the little 'tongue' which is part of the brake pipe locating bracket welded to the strut goes IN THE SPLIT at the back of the hub carrier...the socket the foot of the strut goes into. If you don't do this, the front of the car will be at least 10mm too high! Don't ask how I know....whoever fitted new struts a year back did it wrong. They also stripped 80% of the thread depth of the driveshaft nuts....
