My headlight on my 2008 Highlander went out tonight. Thank you for posting this video. I will be purchasing bulbs and replacing both first thing tomorrow.

I need to replace my 2008 Highlander’s bulbs - now I know how, so thank you! Q: Did your old bulbs have something (grease?) on the metal connection prongs? I assume that’s dielectric grease to prevent corrosion.

One minor difference on our 2010 Highlander Hybrid. On the passenger side headlamp I had to remove the fill pipe for the washer fluid tank and remove the battery clamp in order to access the headlamp.

It’s tighter than I thought between the rubber cover and the light for my 2010 Highlander.

Thanks, got pulled over on an early morning commute. No ticket. Easy replacement. Did both to avoid repeating events, lol.

2008-2013 highlanders are not the same. Totally different bulb sizes. 2008-2010 uses 9003 and 2011-2013 uses H11

Thank you for stating that because I have a 2013 and just found out one of my bulbs is out. I’m watching this video and what he’s doing compared to another video is so different it makes me think that they change the whole bowl of assembly as well and made it much simpler. Again thank you for mentioning this difference.

@@ObservingtheObvious ditto on what last reply says. Driving home up the mountain noticed one low beam is out and it is separate bulb. Looks really easy to replace tomorrow.

@@kalanimacgill2752 I had my other bulb go dark on me on the other side, and I didn’t want to deal with it right away so I used a mechanics trick where you turn on your lights and let them get hot for a bit then pop your hood, lift it up and drop it and it shakes the filament that’s probably broken loose on one side and if it catches the metal just right the electricity will cause it to weld itself back on. I did that on this bulb and did it once and it only lasted for a day or two and went back out. Only the next time I waited until I had been driving it for a while with the lights on; tried that trick again, and it reconnected and went back on. It’s actually been good now for a couple of weeks. It’s just a trick to use in certain cases, but I will be replacing it at some point as it eventually goes out.

Do not touch the glass part of the bulb
@pupperlover6141Ай бұрын
I've seen this said on other videos. Is there a reason for not touching the glass of the bulb?
@robskyleАй бұрын
@@pupperlover6141 The grease on your fingers will cause the bulb to fail.
