Looks so easy and clean, in reality you will have stripped bolts, busted knuckles, lots of cussing, a 12 pack of beer and a trip or two to the auto store for damages parts while taking the old one off, can’t wait to do this on Friday, I know I’ll be in for some good ol VW fun

Thank you for your feedback ! Unfortunately, each car requires particular replacement and everything depends on a technical condition of car parts units. Our videos are informative by the replacement sequence and it is always your right how to replace the car part. Best regards, Autodoc.

:-) i agree, i end up popping a rib, bruised shoulder and skin of my knuckles, all to change pads, disk and a seized caliper. Oh yes and a trip to store for Bleed kit, extra spanners and and and and.... my experience was nothing like the video. lol

Personally I don’t want to be watching a video of someone struggling. It’s a no nonsense tutorial. Cheers

Does the brake hose have a check valve in it? How come it doesn't bleed out when you disconnect from the hard pipe line to the caliper? (Ref: around the 1:10 of the video.)
@autodocuk7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the feedback! there is no valve and you can obsrve the leakage of a brake liquid when the hose is unscrewed. Best Regards, Autodoc Team

Great video. Would be super amazing if you had some type to subtitles to say what each step is. I also think it’s very misleading when he bleeds the breaks at the end of the video. Someone who is not familiar with that might just think all you have to do it open the bleed nipple until a bit of fluid runs out. Should have a warning message on the video. Could be super dangerous. Just a little feedback! Your videos are always very helpful :)

yes your right im pleased I saw your coment is there a different way to bleed them
@matt.banton4 жыл бұрын
Hey, if you search KZbin for ‘how to bleed breaks’ you should find what you need. Basically need to attach a clear tube to the bleed nipple and slowly pull the break peddle, ensuring there break fluid reservoir is kept topped up. But please have a search for a good instruction video. All the best

@@matt.banton so you bleed the brake libe connecting to the caliper you're replacing before reattaching it? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Once caliper is fitted, is bleeding as easy as just opening the bleed valve and someone pumping the brakes until it runs with no air bubbles?
@autodocuk3 жыл бұрын
After the replacement, you need to press the brake pedal several times to bring the caliper piston to the pads. If the entire replacement is performed correctly, there will be no air in the system. AUTODOC

Hello Autodoc: if the yellow plug doesn't come with the new caliper, can one order the plug by itself? WHat is the diameter of the plug? Thank you.

Do you not need to bleed the brakes then, just let it feed through with gravity?
@autodocuk4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your request. After this replacement, it is necessary to skip the brake fluid by gravity, and then pump it so that there are no air bubbles. All work related to the brake system, we recommend to do this work in official car service. Best Regards, Autodoc team.

@autodocuk7 жыл бұрын

the size of the hose should be 1/4 Inner Diameter and 3/4 outer diameter. The wrench size should be 11mm to open and close the valve.
