Be Careful when you reinstall the valve cover that the gasket does not roll towards the firewall end, this happened to me the wire harness on the M156 on the E63 has little slack so the reinstallation of the valve cover is very tight.

@@thathawk1 Also do the timing cover gasket at the sametime, as they will also need replacing really easy to do with the valve covers removed.

You should do an interior and exterior detaling video in the future, haven't seen any good ones for this generation of c63
@everything_amg3 жыл бұрын
Do you mean an in detail review on the inside and outside for the car or an actual detailing video (valeting) ?
@MrMichikelomtres3 жыл бұрын
@@everything_amg i ment an actual detailing video, but the other one you said is pretty interesting too

Anything on ticking noises on start up? Maybe pulley noise or camshaft adjusters
@everything_amg3 жыл бұрын
9/10 it’s the camshaft adjusters that cause the ticking noise on start up, when was the last you changed your oil and what oil are you using?
@c3rtv2393 жыл бұрын
@@everything_amg high performance Merc AMG 0W-40 had the service done a couple weeks ago, I assume the ticking is from the belt but I’m not too sure

@@c3rtv239 how many miles has the car done? See I run a thicker oil, I use 5W40 Mobil 1, as Mercedes Benz have suggested this oil in the M156 engine now.

Great video. This will be me when the parts come from Germany… currently no UK stock. I have a seeping passenger side rear rocker cover on my 2014 C204 C63. Someone has been at it before as there are two odd bolts…. And the originals are one time only bolts. I’ll replace both rocker covers while I’m at it. Plastic ones should be torqued to 8.5nm. I am replacing the foam engine covers covers as well, as they are a bit tatty now!

I own a Mercedes specialists, we also break Mercedes so I had an engine in stock which I was breaking for parts so lucky enough the donor rocker cover was in perfect condition.

Did you drain the oil before starting the work? I have the same problem mate but I have never done any work on any car so just wondering
@Bang_n_slang11 ай бұрын
No. There’s no oil at the top. It’s all in the oil pan at the bottom. Only when the car is on will the oil travel to the top. So do not turn on the car while performing this service and no oil change needed
