Had a loud thud sound on my 06 Mazda 3 when I accelerated and massive vibration while driving. Turned out to be this trans motor mount. It was broken almost completely in half. I'm not one to leave comments but this video helped me out a lot. Thanks

Just a tip for others to save time, you don't need to remove the splash shield or the intake to do the job. Removing the lower half of the intake can give you a little more access if needed, but just undo the two clips, open it, take out the filter, and pull up on the bottom to release it from the two grommets (and one 10mm in bracket by rad support). No need to touch the upper half, MAF, etc. The whole job only requires a jack, 10mm, 17mm, and flat blade screw driver.

You DONT have to remove the any of the air intake stuff when doing this......I followed the advice on this video and its pretty much spot on, But I replaced my mount today without removing some of the parts he did.......

pretty good. I did it for the 2nd time today (2 different cars). I had "help" in the way of my 16yo daughter and her boyfriend, neither mechanically inclined in the least. good thing I had done it before. I didn't know the trick of moving just the tranny to align the hole for its mount. good one. we were levering the entire engine from 2 directions in order to align it. I didn't have to take out the airbox; assuming your setup allows, simply lift it til the mount can come up and clear the studs. way easier than removing all that stuff. even after doing only 2, the difference was major. it was like a new car after doing the lower one also.

I have the same car but hatchback. ive never changed the mounts so I believe they are all stock and I have 150k on the engine. I do race the car a bit with not so much aftermarket parts. Im looking into the AWR Racing ones for the passenger and bottom like the ones you did in your video. my question is if its my daily driver and I do manage to race it and push it at times what durometer would you recommend and what brand? Thanks for the feed back. I know you don't have the car anymore but would appreciate any feedback and any performance mods I can do for sure power.

Hey how's it going? Great vid by the way. I own a 2004 Mazda 3 2.3l and my motor mount bracket or whatever it's called broke on me and I had no way to place a new mount on it. It's really complicated trying to find and replace it. Any suggestions?

Which mounts did you purchase from RockAuto? And how have they been holding up?
@DiDDyLiCiOUz10 жыл бұрын
I got a mazda 3 2005 and i put my other 2 mounts except for the one you install but my car when i put it on reverse it makes like this noise like its hitting something i was wondering if it was that motor mount and it cant be the axle shaft because i put those brand new as well just want more opinions.

Check your motor mount a torq mount to make sure the screws have not come loose. If you never changed the trannymount its worth doing and cheap on rock auto

looking to do all 3 of mine, you said you had a lot of unwanted vibration from the awr racing ones, what durometer did you order yours at? since mines a daily, and I plan on buying something else down the line I was planning on going with 70 since its still a bit better then stock, but should cushion enough as well to limit vibrations. also, trans mount from the same place or did you just do a stock one in this video?
@ghostlyrich9 жыл бұрын
DontBeHat1n it was 88 i here 70 is alright i bought trans mount from rock auto stock replacement. The after market on was a solid plate which i new would be crazy vibrations
@DontBeHat1n9 жыл бұрын
alright yeah I went the same route, but I went 70. guess we will see. ill be rewatching these in a week or so to make sure I don't forget anything haha

Dude one qiestion. Can you access the tcm once you take of the battery box?
@ghostlyrich9 жыл бұрын
you can reach all the way around the tranny. But I'm sure a quick google search will show the tcm location
@timothygarcia899 жыл бұрын
+ghostlyrich No dice with google search. Just figured out its on top of the transmission. Mazda dealerships are not help either lol. i.ebayimg.com/images/g/Y0UAAOSwNSxU0rHi/s-l1600.jpg That is where the tcm is supposed to be. Its either I replacement that mount and tcm myself or bring it to the dealership, which I rather not.

Hey man how come you have a stock motor mount instead of the polyurethane one you put in before on your top motor mount? I was thinking about picking one up cause mine is blown out.
@ghostlyrich10 жыл бұрын
the vibrations from the poly mounts was insane!!! makes the little 4 bange feel like a turboed v8

great for racing but if its your daily driver you might go nuts if you dont like to feel your engine

@Cougar3338 жыл бұрын
+peter pan Have the codes pulled. You have to screw around with the ECU cables/connectors quite a bit, as you can see by the video. They might have damaged something in the harness.

had a massive cold start rattle and self diagnosed as Transmission Mount. Bought new mount and took to mechanic. He calls me when took off old one and says nothing wrong with the old one, I say change anyways. Voila no noise anymore. Fkn dodgy mount on this model. Outsourcing parts never a good idea for manufacturers.

yeah i think you should change the transmission mount to if the problem remains than u should scan the car for faulty codes maybe u will find something related to the transmission solenoid sensor or maybe a tcm needs to be updated or checked out, i have the problem with the my tcm and it kicks like a horse specially when u put it in reverse, but my engine mounts are bad too i just started working on it :-)
