How to change a Yamaha Virago SUBFRAME for a Café Racer build?

Today is the day I start my Cafe Racer project on my 1983 Yamaha Virago (XV750) 🔥
I can’t wait to get this thing looking cool!
I want to start with the rear end of the bike, so let’s take that old bulky subframe, seat and mudguard off of the bike first.
And then, let’s work on a brand new custom welded subframe that has an edgy street look…
There is rust and some welds could be cleaned up so I will sand the subframe to remove the rust and then spray paint in my homemade painting booth.

Thanks a lot ✌️ Il y a simplement une compétition incroyable sur les chaînes anglaises, c’est saturé donc il me faudra du temps pour faire décoller celle là, mais quand elle décollera le potentiel est très important vu le nombre de personnes qui parlent anglais dans le monde 🌎

@@skylerwilder7430 there is HBO Max, Peacock, Netflix but its kinda in the slumps. If you're looking for something like popcorn flix or whatever, be careful. It's not like how it used to be. If you have xfinity wifi, they know and will turn it off on you and won't turn it back on again. It's way too risky if you ask me.

@@Gottayatta Yeah got it on eBay. I was looking for a while before I found a good deal. I had the forks, the braking system and the wheel from different sellers though. So not the price of a complete front end from one seller only

Aussies have always been a fun bunch in my experience ✌️ I bought the subframe on AliExpress, so it’s coming directly from China and should arrive sooner for you than for me 🤞

Hey, man. Awesome build! I was wondering if you could take some measurements of the subframe you bought. Just a rough schematic would be awesome. I recently inherited an xv500 (monoshock ofc) and want to turn it into one of these, but the subframe is too expensive for me. I wouldn't be doing this at all if I hadn't inherited the bike.

Oh I see... well in my area there is a few for sale regularly, if you’re in the US I would recommend to just check back in a few days because those bikes were very popular in the 80s and 90s ✌️
