This video was the most incredible video of all times You so easily explained how to open up the sprinkler how to stick that pin in the hole to keep it down and how to remove and put the new noodle in place. Thank you so very much !! Now all I have to do is try to figure out which nozzle to use it. It’s almost like a trial and arrow.

Thank you for the video. very easy to understand. I followed your instructions and the nozzle appears to be undamaged. My problem appears to be a missing green top. The whole unit is 6 inches tall and 2 inches in diameter at the top. The green head has been completely sheared off. Currently water is pouring from the top. Do I have to replace the whole unit? If so are the units interchangeable. I suspect it may be several years old. I am going to have to buy online.

Great Video! Very easy to follow and to remove and replace the nozzle. But, I can't find anywhere to buy the replacement nozzles. The big box stores around here and Sprinkler Supply do not sell them. They have other brands, but not nozzles for Orbit. Also, each head uses a different size nozzle. Thanks for replying to this (two years after you posted this).

I had a broken sprinkler head (PGP Hunter) that was not popping up - just had water flooding out of the ground around the head. I replaced the head with the Voyager II. The replacement went well in that the head came up correctly and watered the yard in the manner desired after a few minor adjustments according to the directions. However, when the system cycle finished the head goes down and then immediately comes back up about an inch and continues to produce a short but steady stream of water with a slow rotation to the head. Any ideas on what this could be? I have tried adjusting the spray length, I have also removed the head and cleaned it inside and out. I tried simply pushing the head back down, but it would then come back up again to the slow steady stream. I'm wondering if a different nozzle size would work, as it might reduce the amount of back pressure on the head?
@orbitsprinklers4 жыл бұрын
this is likely because of some residual pressure and water in the lines. Usually this resolves after a few minutes. if it's continuing longer than that it could indicate a broken valve (solenoid or diaphragm), which is letting a little bit of water through the valve even when it's off.

Hi great video very helpful , I have question can you please help me understand the specific action of each nozzle I am looking to decrease the distance and have a much broader spread but at a loss as to which nozzle is appropriate .
@orbitsprinklers4 жыл бұрын
Generally the lower the number (smaller the opening) the further it will spray. However, this means less water output at one time and you'll need to run the sprinklers longer to get the same amount of saturation. Also, if the nozzle is too small and the pressure too high, you can get misting, which is generally not desirable. It's really just an experimentation game to match your system's pressure and flow rate.

Will the green cap come off? The set screw is clogged so the wrench won’t go in
@orbitsprinklers5 жыл бұрын
The green cap is not meant to come off. If the top portion is clogged a paper clip is usually narrow enough to remove the debris.

If my sprinkler is not getting the ground wet underneath the arc, should I use the L1 nozzle? I have a 30ft x 45ft rectangle. I have two lines running parallel with the 45 ft boarders. Each line has 3 sprinklers on them (1 90 degree, 1 180 degree, and another 90 degree). Everything looks good except the top left 90 and top middle 180 get wet enough. There is a 3ft x 1 ft area that is under the arc of the 90 and 180 that doesn't really get hit.
@orbitsprinklers6 жыл бұрын
The lower nozzle would certainly help. how is the head-to-head coverage in the area? we always recommend having an adjacent sprinkler arc pattern giving cross-over coverage to the next for just this reason.

I purchased six of these brand new from Home Depot, and every one of them leaks from the seal; I have just county household pressure, and others connected to the circuit do not leak. Do I need to keep buying them to get to one that works properly?
@orbitsprinklers5 жыл бұрын
Please note these are self lubricating at the seal, so a little bit of water there is normal behavior. However, if it is drastic, we'd certainly like to help get this resolved. Please send us your contact info via one of the social media channels in the video descriptions and our support team will get in touch.

If I set the sprinkler to rotate 90 degrees, the main arch does 90 degree but the sides of the arch are more than 90 degrees. Do the different nozzles help limit the side spray?
@orbitsprinklers6 жыл бұрын
You will need to observe and make micro adjustments to get exactly the right spray. The main arch will be 90 degrees, but based on the nozzle or water pressure, there is a possibility of over spray at the edges by a few degrees. Some simple micro-adjustments should be able to eliminate this.
@tonybrown14716 жыл бұрын
It was spraying over the edge probably 20 degrees. I fixed this by changing the nozzle that it comes with. I saw in some manual (I think for the manifold) that the "90" degrees should use the size 1 nozzle, "180" should use 2, "270" should use 3 and "360" should use 4.

on the nozzles there is a L and some numbers. What does the L stand for? The arch is too high, and not close to the ground.
@orbitsprinklers7 жыл бұрын
The "L" are low profile nozzles. They are supposed to spray lower than regular nozzles (lower arch) for cases where tree cover or low hanging branches would affect getting maximum distance.

1,2 and 3 are eco-pattern nozzles. You can find info on their performance here: www.orbitonline.com/site_files/manuals/55660-24%20rA(1)1.pdf

Very much need to understand the spray pattern that each sprinkler nozzle produces. Some nozzle openings look like a house, some are vertical slits, some are very flat and horizontal. Rather than replace a bunch and look at them, what is thee pattern?
@orbitsprinklers4 жыл бұрын
although the outlets look different, they do not produce a different pattern. all are just a stream of water. the smaller the opening, the less water will come out. This is necessary to regulate flow to match the pressure available. Some nozzles do have an 'L' by their numbers, which means low profile. these have an arc that is lower than standard nozzles and is useful in areas where overhang (from tree branches) might require such a spray arc.
@sailork35064 жыл бұрын
@@orbitsprinklers I don't buy this answer from Orbit Irrigation. The 1.0 normal (not "L") spray is clearly very vertical and short. It has no width to speak of and is a vertical plane of spray.The 3 that comes installed on the sprinkler is very much a rectangle and has mostly a long stream of water. And most of the extra nozzles that come with the voyager II are "L" models. Makes no sense to have most of the nozzles a specialty item... I think the documentation, including youtubes, that are available for the voyager are junque. Therefore, adjustment is a pain in the neck. It took me 3 days to properly adjust the 5 sprinklers that we installed, including picking the right nozzle, setting the left range (very hard and very imprecise) and tweeking the right range edge and distance (relatively easy with included tool). Worse, it doesn't appear to be a learning curve--it will still be a PITN next time I install one.
@kerrythompson95063 жыл бұрын
@@sailork3506 I don't understand why you're concerned with the width of the spray. The sprinkler rotation provides the width. Having a narrower stream allows more precise watering at the edge when not doing a full 360. The thing to be concerned about is radial uniformity, from the sprinkler itself out to the full spray distance. I'm replacing impact sprinklers with this one because I'm tired of dry circles around the sprinkler head.
