You inspired me! I made a scarf once long, long ago so I had to relearn how to crochet for this project. As a meteorologist and air quality scientist I decided to geek out on this project. So I opted for a "climate blanket". Starting with 1966 (birth year) and then 1984 then 2004 and finally the hottest year on record 2023. All years in one blanket. I used Boston data and a color coded excel spreadsheet to create my pattern. I will somehow include rain/snow hurricane and tornado data. So many people confuse weather with climate. This very visual approach makes our warming planet ever so obvious when the data points are spread out over nearly 60 years. I would attach a photo but I don't see how to do that. Thank you for your videos without which I would not have been inspired!

Wow. I’ve watched several videos on changing colors. It was so difficult. Found yours. The game changer was tying the two loose ends together into a halfway know. So easy now! Thank you!!!

Thank you for sharing. ☺️ I have to restart my temp.blanket, because i had trouble with the edges. I didn’t know how to end a row nicely, so thanks for showing that. The trouble with this method is that the sides turned out to be much wider, as i was trying to hide the leftover yarn. 🫤 but i’ll try again. 😅 keep up the good work! Well done!

You inspired me to do a 2024 blanket. I’m using the heartland collection as well but I’m using some different colors. So far it’s turned out really blue as we’ve been in the 40s a lot here in the PNW 😅

I have been looking for a tutorial like this all over KZbin. I have wanted so badly to make a temperature blanket but I'm new to crocheting and didn't fully understand how to change the colors so much or what to do when you got to the end of a row. Thank you so much!!

Her technique for holding the hook is so bizarre for me… it’s neat watching how other people crochet. Have you made any more progress on the 2024 blanket? I’m so excited to see what the comparison ends up being!❤

What if one color of yarn suddenly stops being manufactured?😯 Or do you buy it all from the start? In that case, how to estimate? And how do you work out how many stiches, whether crochet or knit? So it won't become super long and super narrow?? Many questions, sorry! I really want to do a teperature blanket!☺
@matthersh58612 күн бұрын
I bought the same yarn as you! I’m thinking of doing 5.5mm hook. How tight did you tension it that it was as small? Bc my calculations show it will be way longer!! Thanks so much for your videos and help!!

How many chains and rows did she do for this temperature blanket. And what kind of crochet hook she use and what color is the crochet hook.
@sarawallace669615 күн бұрын
Size 6 hook. 230 single crochet stitches wide. Each row represents 1 day… so there will be the same amount of rows as days in that year.

How many skeins were you able to use for last year's temperature blanket?
@itsbreellis11 ай бұрын
Somewhere between 22-25 I lost count a bit. I had some extra too. Some of those skeins were only half used my the end. I wanted to crochet out a whole skein and compare a bit better.
