Great job!! I tried to do this with my DeWalt 20V drill. It won't work. I go the polarity correct. I got the out put and in put voltages correct. All it would do is turn on the LED on the drill. Any suggestions? I was wondering if it hand anything to do with the fact that the center two contracts are 4.5V. I put 4.5V on those contacts plus the 20V, it still didn't work. Thank you in advance.

which battery pack are you using? There are some battery packs that have a thermal sensor on it. You have get around the sensor.

I'm using the 20V 5AH battery. How do you bypass the thermal sensor?

@@ericlavalley6260 what's the model of your drill? if you have a terminal that says (T), then that's the thermal sensor. most chargers use this terminal while charging. But not all tools use this terminal while the tool is in use. So it really depends on the tool. I would try putting a 10K resistor across the (T) terminal and the (+) terminal. I don't have a newer drill so I am guessing a little here.

I tried the method, but the drill keeps working and turning off. What is the solution?

Maybe power is not enough, make sure your power supply can provide enough current and and voltage

I think that a computer power supply is better than this.

Computer power supply won't give me 18 volt x 20 amp power.
