Major Question: According to Ford my 2006 Fusion needs the following: Alignment Front Rotors 4 lower control arms Left front bub bearing Right front lug stud & nut Front sway bar links Inner tire rod This was given to me from diagnostic. My question, Do I need to do all this if so in which order and your video is pretty straightforward so the rotor job I'm sure I could do. Believe it or not I still drive it every morning to work and back. Thanks

Our cars are getting to a point where a lot of things are wearing out or are already worn out. If your tires don’t have excess wear on them and alignment isn’t too far off you could probably hold off for a little while. Also if you do an alignment and then end up changing out links and control arms the alignment would have to be done again. Tie rod controls the cars turning and steering that should be one of the first things. Lug stud and nut should be cheap and done when tie rod is changed. Then the rotors and the hub bearing. Last things I would do are the links and control arms. Last would be alignment. Rotors aren’t difficult to put in and also If you put them in it good to put new brake pads on at that time and make sure you do the break in process on the brakes. Good luck.

Thanks for video, where did you get the rubber hardware to put on the pins??
@dannydoitall33123 жыл бұрын
@Wow Mack Just looked it up and it looks like I bought it on Amazon. I purchased the Raybestos Professional Hardware Kit.

On my 2009 fusion, the shorter guide pin (the one with the notches in the washer-like portion of the 14 mm nut) was installed in the bottom hole of the bracket. A google search seems to agree with this. It’s crazy that Ford would make the two pins different lengths; worse yet, the official ford shop manual makes no mention of the different sizes.

Is changing the front brakes on a 2006 Ford Five Hundred similar to the brake change on a Fusion?
@dannydoitall33124 жыл бұрын
Hi Jon, I would say that the five hundred would be similar to the Mercury Montego. But in general most cars are fairly similar in terms of caliper/rotor setups.
