If you are doing this at home and do not have a rig or a Vortex pass through socket set it is a lot easier to loosen the top nut with an impact driver before you unbolt and remove the strut. If you don't have the weight of the car on the strut you will find it very difficult to remove the top nut unless you have a large vice.

My mate shown me a new way 😮😮 impact driver spring compressors just to stop it springing awaaaay. And boom 2 mins I was ey what sort mockery is this?? We had it lined up the lot.. not like the dude in this video tightening the nut then squeezing it over it was lined as he tightened it as two of us well top strut last two days FFS 😮😮 theres not much you can can wrong with really is there

I did this very procedure but when I drive over a bump I can hear my right wheel clunk, almost as if the strut isn’t tight enough to the chassis. Any idea?

that's INSANE that the rebound is only held in place by a pair of plastic C's. I was looking at mine wondering where they hid the 3 bolts, but nope........ i mean its got 150k on it, so i guess it held, but the optics are just freaky.

The weight of the car holds the strut in place unless the car is off the ground. The plastic collar only needs to stop the strut falling out if the car gets airborne!
