Guys correct me if I'm wrong, but from what i know you must pre fill the fuel filter before starting the engine because the high pressure pump is lubricated by the fuel,and if it doesn't have fuel it.And it's gonna damage the high pressure pump and the injectors.

There are several options. The video after replacement shows that you need to turn on the ignition for the pump to fill the filter; this procedure must be done several times before starting. You can also fill the filter yourself or bleed the system using diagnostic equipment. Any of these options is correct.

The filter's main purpose is to filter water. But if water is too much i would advise you to change your regular gas station and replace the fuel filter after 10.000 kms to check if there any changes.
