Great vid so thank you. However, it appears that the new ones are also White and not Orange (1:58) so I'm assuming that the only difference is that tips; one being ceramic and thicker and the other is thinner?

Definitely look into the research more. The valves were not heat treated from the factory in the earlier models and crack, causing them to drop and take the glow plug through the motor. So new or used, the valve takes it with it lol. DEFINITELY look into a set of heads with yours being cracked.

If it makes you feel better I have a F350 build date of 1-20-2011 and I’ll be doing this when I find time and motivation. Not much info on the issue and some say it was never the plugs it was the valves, but I’m with you, better safe then sorry. Good to see you’ve already deleted. You should get rid of the stock air intake and add a S&B intake. Really tops off the delete. Though you do get a lot more turbo noise. Speaking of turbo have you had to replace yours?
@SolidGroundStaging6 жыл бұрын
Beinggrownupsux 80 I’ll have to look into the S&B intake. The passenger side was a breeze to do. Drivers side not so much. Good luck to you.

Solid Ground Staging just finished about an hour ago. Definitely the front plug on the driver’s side was the worst. I have a 2” leveling kit which I imagine helped. Thanks for the video.

I deleted and boy does my truck move, sometimea it jerks when I accelerate ( by flooring it ) when I'm on the road, what could be causing that?

@@noeeon9910 that sounds like a fuel delivery issue.

If it’s me I’d go to dealer and ask for the latest greatest glow plug buying on line you may be buying what you’re taking out? Just a thought

George Donnell these are the ones that our local Ford dealership recommended for replacement. The new ones are not the correct size and will destroy the engine.
@conradlarson5 жыл бұрын
George, my experience with the dealer, is they first of all wont admit that the glow plugs are a problem. Second, the parts staff are incompetent and would most likely end up selling me the orange "newer style" plugs that wouldnt fit my engine and third, they would charge me double, possibly triple the price compared to what I can find online. Can you tell Im bitter towards dealerships? Lol

How many glow plugs does it have? And how often do we need to replace these?
@joshshetler1223 жыл бұрын
8 plugs one per cylinder I do know that but not how frequent. I'm at 100k and about to do mine just to be safe I guess it would be how frequent you start it
